is it ok to leave USB or iPod connected?

From my observations it does appear that the iPod remains on even after shutdown. As to whether it continues to charge I'm not sure. I will try an experiment by leaving a partially charged iPod connected in my ride overnight and check the following morning if it has recharged.

There is a warning in the Command Online manual not to leave devices in the car due to possible damage from extreme temperatures (Iwhich in our context would be heat).

I leave my iPod permanently connected.

Me too. No issues at all so far.

I have checked and confirmed that the iPod if left connected in my car will not charge. I also leave my iPod in the car most of the time as 90% it is parked under shelter. However I usually remove it from the car if I'm parking under the sun for a prolonged period. I do this as a precaution to protect the iPod and its battery.

i noticed that my USB card reader in the USB slot will still be blinking green even after I remove the car key. Which means the USB card reader is still activated, after turning the car off and removing the key. Any bro shares the same finding as me?

Even after you pluck out the key, the electronics doesn't shutdown immediately. It takes a while for all electronics in the car to shutdown after you lock. That's why even without the key in the ignition slot, you still can on the HU and listen to music.
