Pre FL-W204 losses power & car vibrates

Hi all,

Need to check if anyone has experience this before. My car is a 1.6l Kompressor & 15 mths old.

I was driving early this morning and felt that the car has a loss in power. Even you press the accelerator, it feels that there is no power for the car to move. I was travelling at KPE towards PIE at about 60 km/h to 80 km/h and seems that the car cannot move beyond that. When I stopped at Stevens Rd Caltex petrol station traffic light, the whole car was vibrating. It seems that the car was going to stall anytime.

Stopped the car at one of the petrol kiosk at Bt. Timah Rd, off the engine for 5 mins. Restarted and now it is okay. Really wonder what actually happened.

Regards,

Sam

maybe something stuck/ loose in the "breathing apparatus" of your ride? could be choking for air when you encounter the almost stalling situation, maybe worth to just bring for a checkup. The Qi like not "soon"... :)

This sounds like your car going into limp mode, or 'safe mode'

Happens when your ecu detects something is not right, and goes into limp mode to preserve/save your engine.

Did you mod your car? ECU remap, piggyback, etc. Else best is to send your car to a workshop for testing

So far, it has been 2 days and no recurrence. My son told me that my car sounds like a SCOOTER when I was driving off after dropping him at school..

Could be a spark plug problem. Have the mechanic to check.

yes, I will send in to C&C for servicing in the next 2 weeks or so. Actually, when my car was about 9 -10 mths old, I encountered this scenario that engine started with D engaged but no response when you step on the accelerator. Off the engine and could not start again. Called up C&C, asked me to wait for 20 mins and try to restart, it works. When I sent in to C&C, they said there was no indication of any fault or whatever. :phew:
