A Malaysian car banged my backside... and I "malu" myself

Recommended Posts

I was waiting to enter a carpark at Orchard Road. There was a terrible traffic jam. Suddenly I heard a bang and my car lurched slightly forward. I came out, saw that it was a Proton bearing a Malaysian car plate. My mind was like "Damn suay... can forget about claiming from his insurance."

I stormed to the driver's side and demanded his passport. I don't know what I can do with it, but it sounded like a good idea at that time.

The driver asked to let him move his car. Thinking that he might take the opportunity to slip away, I refused and kept demanding that he hand over his passport. I even blocked his way [which was a stupid thing to do, I know.]

All the while, I kept using the F-word, shouting at the driver, demanding his passport. The driver came out, handed over his passport and his work permit. I let him drive his car away.

It was then I realised that was no damage to my rear bumper. I felt like an idiot. When the driver came back, I promptly returned his documents. Upon seeing my undamaged bumper, he driver began to harangue me for verbally abusing him with all the F word. He kept going even after I got into my car. I had to wind down my window and asked him if he want to start all over again. That got him to shut up and I quickly moved to the carpark.

Lesson learnt: If someone bangs my rear, check the rear bumper first before going bullistic.

Side note: Merc's bumper is damn tough.

Glad both u and ur car are fine bro, but do thorough check though, sometimes it's internal damage, though unlikely in your case cos its a Proton. Lol

Sometime the damage can't be seen one. Can be internal damage.

The worst part is u didnt file a police report so if touch wood your car really have some internal troubles due to the accident, your insurance company can reject your claim totally
