Ignition fault - Car can't crank!!!

Hi all,

When i insert the key, it does not have the usual "click" sounds, but the key can be turned. There isn't any ignition cranking sound at all. Checked and it is not the battery problem.

Anyone faced the same issue?

Apparantly, I am being told by one mechanic that the sensor is faulty, and it is the immobilizer problem. My car is a PI merc C200. The mechanic adviced me to send it back to C&C. But firstly, I would need to register my car with them and the registration fee alone is $10K excluding the repair costs and parts!I! Sobs :(

Can anyone advise? My car is currently towed to a workshop outside which I was told it will cost me $5k and it takes 2 weeks to order the parts. But i am not sure where the source and genuinity of the parts.

Will the security be compromised if the car is not sent back to C&C?

Does anyone have any reccomendations of any workshop which is cheaper, reliable and I don't have to be car-less for 2 weeks?

Many thanks!

Thanks all, the situation seems similar to all that you mentioned, but the car does not have any green key lights flashing at the dash, as described when I search google.

Looked at the link provided, I guess I'm the unlucky one if it only happens to 0.1%........

I will call Ah Heng tomorrow whether there is any other solutions....

If this is the case, likely is the circuit board. Do check & compare the repair cost with a few workshop. How old is yr ride?
