Car lock

Anyone encountered issues with the car locking mechanism?

Mine went nuts these couple of days (front left); cannot lock and when locked cannot open. Needed a few try to 'warm' up and then back to normal. So, sent in this morning to C&C to check and they said (after 2 hours of inspection!) that the lock meachnism needs to change. Not quite sure what's that and was quoted S$600 before GST. Somemore, has to come back another day as they do not have the parts. On the day of repair, has to leave the car there for a day. I aruged with the client service guy and managed to shorten the repair time to half a day. Imagine you blur blur and said fine and they will take their own sweet time to do the repair. Anyhow, anyone has such issues before? I hate to always rely on C&C (my warranty has just passed) and at their mercy....so am looking out for other workshop that can do the same at a lower price (and probably faster too). :sword:

IMHO - No proper Just In Time planning by CnC!

Day of appt. U send your car in. It will usually stay in the queue until they touch your car to do the repair.

Cheers

I'm a MB Whore! :)

Yes. You are right on!

That's why I told the service guy that I am paying that much and will not come down too well if they take their time to do the replacement. Not that they need time to diagnose what's the issue. That's done and just need someone to take out the part and replace it. So, told him it's either 2-3 hours or nothing. So he is checking now. I am also checking with one other workshop on the price and the time they need to do the replacement....

I just had my changed by MBM 1 mth back for front and rear (right side of car only). Mine is a W211.

The job require them to get the parts (full handle comes with lock)

May need to paint if model requires it.

Come back when they are ready (about 3 to 4 days).

Actual replacement is only half hour.

Hope this helps.

U can get the parts from local distributor then head down to yr regular workshop to get it replaced. This way is much cheaper!!
