would just like to ask the mac gurus here.

Is there a option to password protect a single folder? i tried searching for it, but i can only lock it from other accounts.

-----------------

To password protect your folder Do as follows:

Open Disk Utility ( Applications-Utilities-Disk Utility ) Click on "file" in the menu bar - Put the cursor on "new"- Click on "Disk image From folder"

In the dialog box that pops up navigate to the folder you would like to PassWord protect Select that folder And then at the bottom right hand corner of the dialog box click on the "Image" button

Next The "new image from folder" box will appear name the folder You want to password protect and where you would like to save it

Then choose the image format (I choose read and write) Next click on encryption and choose AES-128 and then click "save"

Then in the resulting box type in the password to protect this folder and choose if you want your keychain to remember this folder's password

Please Do not forget the password to this folder as if you do the contents of this folder will be gone forever

thanks lots g8crasher bro. but do i have to delete the original folder? cause i still can open the original folder, but only input password when i click on the .dmg file.

also, is undo-ing this process in the reverse manner?

Hey bro, what you have just done is create a DMG or disk image so it's not exactly a normal desktop folder. You need to get rid of the normal folder in order to enjoy the password protection feature. It's something like a compressed zip file actually so if you want it reversed, just make sure you decompress the contents and chuck it in a normal desktop folder.

I have this free small program that makes the folder disappear and you need the password to make any folder appear again. So all naughty stuff can go into the folder and make it invisible.

I remembered there were Apple II clones in the market then and it sprouted a mini computer industry in homes. I was doing soldering on the mainboard at home to earn pocket money so that the clone guy can assemble it for sale. Cheap labour.

20th Anniversary Macintosh. This is the iMac G5/Core2Duo's granduncle predecessor. It got a spot in one of the early Batman movies. Still a looker. eBay has a few for sale....

I don't think I even had a printer then so I never used that command!! Dot matrix days ?

I do remember my neighbour showing me the first version of strip poker in CGA 4 color mode for the 1st time running on an IBM x86 machine. Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of The Lounge Lizards or something like that came out not too long after?!?

I am glad Apple did not produce this dull looking mac. The half sphere and current white iMac design are beautiful, so is the colourful range. I nearly bought a tangerine colour clamshell ibook because I like the design of the integrated carry handle and colour.
