i think worst situation will be sign up the tour of switzerland during the coming holiday fair.

then extend the stay after following the tours.

I have done a round trip in Switzerland for 2 weeks starting from Zurich. Went South to Lucerne, Interlaken, Zermatt, then took a detour into Italy by the Glacier Express to reach Lugano in Switzerland, head North back to Zurich. Free and Easy, lots of coffee breaks, walking in the ski area in Jungfrau region.

My personal preference is to skip Geneva because it's just another city and it's tuck at the extreme end of Switzerland, making a round trip difficult unless you want to do one month Switzerland. I would do another round trip for the Western part of Switzerland next time but it's unlikely since I have been to Geneva.

Alternatively, I can tell you my other 2 weeks round trip in Germany, taking in Mercedes-Benz factory tour and autobahn driving, wine tasting along the Romantic route and the fairy tale Neushwanstein.

If I ever do another Europe trip, it's going to be Normandy D-day and Mont St-Michel.

Don't ever do group tour or you will come back confuse with where have you been to. Travelling especially honeymoon is about taking it easy, smell the flower, drink coffee and waking up late.

How coincident, I flew on Christmas eve to Zurich (because I used SIA staff ticket) and spent Christmas and New Year in Switzerland. Mind you, shops closed on Christmas day in Lucerne (I suppose it's the same in other area) and I went without dinner, thinking I can still go for McDonalds but I was wrong. Even Mac close on Christmas day.

We will need to meet if you want my itinerary. Still a long way to go......
