title is quite misleading but i am starting this thread for discussion.

some may know that i am using the HRE (reps) rims and washing it is like doing the SOC 3 times...

now, the mother of all question is:

which mo-del rim is the easier to maintain?

tks a bunch!

Certainly not the stock 17" rim of the FL C-class. It looks deceptively easy, but the narrow gap of the spokes is not making my life easy when washing.

5 spokes designs are the best for cleaning

Generally it's 5 spokes. But it's not just about the number of spokes. The finishing and design are equally important. This one is secret info from a tyre shop expert.

For example, BBS rims, though some may look like hard to clean, they are actually not. The dirt just glides off with a sponge and some soap of course. The design of the groves, for example are angled, for easy cleaning. These are normally found only original TUV approved rims.

Of course after sometime, when the coating is gone, it gets harder.....

my weekly sweaty forehead and tired fingers think you may be talking about all other BBS rims, except for BBS CS rims....

It depends on what kind of painted rims, I used Sonax on my previous W203 AMG painted rims and the rims are still alright. I am currently using Sonax on my FL W204 stock rims.

The sonax ones are alrite. Rims Kim Kim after wash, need some elbow grease by cleaning with a sponge. I understand sonax is related to merc car care. Maybe saw it at c&c service ctr.

Actually I would think our stock rims should at least be powder coated but seniors pls correct me.
