Is this xenon/HID?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I just took over a pre-owned MB w204. from what i know my model does NOT come with factory fitted xenons as standard equipment.

Thus would like to double confirm that the pictures as shown in the attachment below shows a xenon headlight (main low beam) on my car.

Next thing would be to find out if this was an additional option by ex-owner from the agent or is it an aftermarket mod think.gif

Unker Batam (the expert in HID lights) did a very good write up on these bulbs. Try searching for it, hope it's lost in the move to this new platform. In his opinion, 5000k is the best for driving condition....which I fully agee.

Wml888, if want to mod, don't be scared. If scared, don't mod. That's what the vets here swear by.

Thanks. Your signature seems protesting the earlier comments "why not go Goggle..."

Chill, Bro.

Bro, which shop did you fitted ?

LTA compliance or "worry later" ?

Haha funny comments on jacky chan signature. Sonic can do a good job on the HID. All HID mods are not LTA friendly & will void warranty too. So the comment "mods dont scare & scare dont mods" is a real warning. Many here knows what they are in for, else u will lose sleep over it & regretted which is the last thing u want when comes to modding yr ride.

Lol it's been there since the move. Only the lazy need to fear the signature.

Not sure if LTA friendly, I think should be fine if not too bright.

For my slk I changed all to Philips white bulbs.

Headlights main, low and high beam, fogs, licence plate lights.

No issue during inspection and so far so good. :)

Hi Bro, where did you get this done, and how much was the damage (estimate will do)?

there are two ways to go about it. 1. change bulb nia (usually bulb price + install fee). 2. change the whole assemby lock stock barrel - which comes to a high sub-1k price tag

The pre FL W204 has a projection lens light assembly, unlike the FL reflective lens. So it looks better (more convincing) to install a HID light, and this only involve strapping on the ballast and changing xenon bulb. The computer should need to set for xenon.

Reflective lens HID tend to have light that looks scattered unlike projection lens HID.
