so bro GTurismo, you actually recommend doing it? Should I do it outside then?

to me an oil & filter change at abt 2K+ is not unreasonable... it is without a doubt tat ur engine components need to "seat in" during the run-in period (during which it might be likely tat there are more debris in ur oil) and im sure the oil after travelling all the way from factory & possibly the car sitting idle in the yard awaiting order & delivery plus our hot & humid plus congested start stop traffic would be more than enough reason to change oil at 2K+... haha... long enough reason? at least tat is wat i will certainly do. ;D

i have been very regular with oil changes on my previous ride - but wit tat said my previous car was more performance oriented and certainly needed regular intervals of oil change. I will not save on it. It does not cost much to get it done outside wit original parts anywys.

cheers!

service done at 10k includes:

Lubrication service

-shell helix ultra

-oil filter

-combination filter

-engine wash

-windshield washer fluid

-fuel additives

-engine flush

rotate and static balance for front wheel

Total - $541.58

I was told to do 1st servicing @ 10k (W203 and W204 and also my bro W211) and there is no run in for our cars. due to busy schedule I went for my 1st servicing at 11.5k for my W204. It cost $384.41. This include the following :

Lubrication service with engine compartment clean

Fliter element (hope this is not the air filter as mine is K&N filter)

Windshield washer solution

Fuel additives

Engine flush

Shell Helix Ultra

Hw cum Cblack is cheaper?? ??? ??? ???

he got a few more things done

Doesn't the W204 have Assyst?

That's an adaptative servicing indicator which samples your oil's capacitance and then directs you to service as the oil quality gets bad.

My practice was to change oil just after break in, then depend on Assyst. During this oil change do not reset Assyst. The first Assyst service will be Service A, which is cheaper.

My information is with the W203, which I experienced both ends, not the W204 though.

hi.

anybody with C&C warranty actually service outside?

I was thinking of just changing engine oil (now at 2,000+km) outside, but some people mention C&C will void warranty. How can they tell? and if you have changed the engine oil yourself (DIY), they cannot void warranty right?

I did that when my W203 was 1 mth old. C&C will not be able to tell so long as you use the same brand of oil filter so just ensure the workshop you go to does this. But cars these days all pre-run in so why need to change engine oil at 2k? wrote:

hmm... i would think tat the "run-in" they did at the factory is probably when the engine was still on the bench... to be tested for final QC before they fit it into the engine bay... so factory run in might not mean ALL components of ur ride are bedded/run-in...

in any case, it usually takes up to 5Kkms & basic fluid changes before u feel the engine + transmission has loosened up - i look forward to the slight improvement in consumption when my ride is finally run-in!

can someone kindly enlighten on the engine oil weight plsease? standard w40 will do?

cheers

I was just telling everyone 1st servicing cost me $500! anyway I use w50. Don't forget that ur C200 has a supercharged engine. While there is no harm in using w40 but the engine will 'drink' it faster.
