I was told to do 1st servicing @ 10k (W203 and W204 and also my bro W211) and there is no run in for our cars. due to busy schedule I went for my 1st servicing at 11.5k for my W204. It cost $384.41. This include the following :

Lubrication service with engine compartment clean

Fliter element (hope this is not the air filter as mine is K&N filter)

Windshield washer solution

Fuel additives

Engine flush

Shell Helix Ultra

Huh! I waste money lor, did mine at 1k, next they told me was at 6K :'( PI diff with C&C ??? ??? all are from same manufacture, why diff in maintaining :-\

Opine PI doing con job on you. Even Jepun car new one servicing is 10k interval. ??? Either that or they use full mineral instead of synthetic oil but then cost of servicing will be cheaper.

I left my car at C&C pandan loop during lunch and went to collect at 8+ pm. I asked them to leave the key with the guard house and sent the payment via cheque. The pick up service cost $40 each trip ie to and fro. Only for the "expensive" models than it's free.

Bro,

You service 2 times with PI workshop the bill wont even come near to the charges of C&C first 10km servicing.

I did my 1st servicing at 1k (Semi Syn) and second one at 5.5k (Fully Syn). Next will be 15.5k.

Fresh oil is always good for the engine. And recently we have so many 'BUKA' sessions. High rev stress the engine alot.

Cheers.

i recommend use Mobile 1 engine oil. Container Gold colour.

MBM recommend me to used on my W203, engine very quiet and smooth. thumps up

Yeap. 0W40. Would avoid the 5w50, too thick....

btw, any of you go to auto spritze (at eurohaus) for servicing bo? went there for my 30k servicing for my a4, costs me around 280+ if i remembered correctly, but ala carte styled, no package available.

the mechanic there seems to be real pros and noe what they are doing, and they also seem to service many conti brands including merc, audi, vw, porche etc. so i suppose expertise will not be an issue.

anyway, intending to bring my merc there for servicing if C&C charges too high for my future servicing.

hi.

anybody with C&C warranty actually service outside?

I was thinking of just changing engine oil (now at 2,000+km) outside, but some people mention C&C will void warranty. How can they tell? and if you have changed the engine oil yourself (DIY), they cannot void warranty right?

I did that when my W203 was 1 mth old. C&C will not be able to tell so long as you use the same brand of oil filter so just ensure the workshop you go to does this. But cars these days all pre-run in so why need to change engine oil at 2k? ;D

may i ask wat is the MB recommended engine oil weight for C200? quite irritating when i read the owner's manual and all it specifies is MB sheet number etc etc.. does MB expect tat all owners would not bother abt wat engine oil their car uses? ::)

tks

Thanks!

Actually, just backside itchy as some bros here recommended a change of oil after 1.5k is ideal to bring out superb performance and efficiency. I won't do it at C&C cos the labour costs is just too high.

Did you find that it was worthwile changing your oil after only 1 month?

hmm... i would think tat the "run-in" they did at the factory is probably when the engine was still on the bench... to be tested for final QC before they fit it into the engine bay... so factory run in might not mean ALL components of ur ride are bedded/run-in...

in any case, it usually takes up to 5Kkms & basic fluid changes before u feel the engine + transmission has loosened up - i look forward to the slight improvement in consumption when my ride is finally run-in!

can someone kindly enlighten on the engine oil weight plsease? standard w40 will do?

cheers
