LTA releases 22,160 COEs for February-July

SINGAPORE: The Certificate of Entitlement (COE) quota for the six-month period from February to July this year will be 22,160.

This is 164 fewer than for the last six-month period from August 2011 to January 2012 which had 22,324 COEs available.

The Land Transport Authority says bidding under this quota will start with February's first open bidding exercise.

Category A for small cars up to 1,600cc will get the most COEs of 1,239 per month, over the six months.

The COE quota consists of the provision for 1.5 per cent vehicle growth based on the vehicle population as at end-December last year.

It also takes into consideration replacement COEs for vehicles de-registered between July and December last year and adjustment for over-projections of vehicle de-registrations in 2008 and 2009.

LTA says the next COE quota announcement for the COE bidding period from August 2012 to January 2013 will be made in July 2012.
