Any bros have any updates?

I'm one of the "victims" affected.... Luckily my car not locked up as I intended to fix certain problems during that period when the doors to Khang Auto was locked.

Is the adoption fee "only" $10k by C&C? The last time I read ST article was much higher at $30K!!!

Actually I want ask a question:

Last time my cabrio is Mbm wheel power booklet that states the warranty but separately I'm given a TWM warranty card.

So if TWM gone, so what happen to the MBM warranty/servicing booklet?

Abit confused on this. Any advise?

The PI who sold the car to the 1st owner unwiilingly to make any arrangement on the warranty issue and i have decided to file a claim against them via CASE or Small Claims Tribunal court.. Reason given by the PI - oh you are the 2nd owner so the warranty not transferable n we not obligated to do that.. I told them "Swee! I reserved my legal rights to proceed with a claim agaInst your company cos I have a lot of time to play with U. After all I have all documents to prove the car sold by The Car R....cy"

Meanwhile, i managed to get a reputable n reliable workshop to cover my car warranty but have to go thru a inspection and cough out some $$$.. Sianz and darn TL with the bloody PI..

Let me check with the person incharge whether are they taking in any more coverage for affected car owners.. According to them car warranty biz not lucrative and that's why they didn't actively promote the service in the market.

Here's what I gathered so far...:becky:

Called TWM hotline and spoke to senior staff who said that they are trying to resolve the matter. All servicing and claims can be done at their old premise.

M*** auto. Just drop by to service your car.

Next, I called my PI but didn't ask to speak to the GM yet.

The SE told me to go to the above mentioned workshop for servicing and claims as well.

Therefore, I think you can still drop by M*** auto if your car has issues.

They may be able to rectify. May take some time. The workshop was damn packed when I drove past.

Finally, I called up 1 of the workshop bosses (conti specialist) listed behind the twm booklet. He said they will entertain all servicing requests but unfortunately Twm has run into some problems. I asked if he is willingly to take over the warranty if there are a few PI cars. He said he is in the midst of discussing with other parties.

So should we just head on to M*** auto till further notice or just switch to another workshop and get them to absorb the warranty for a fee of coz. (any bros keen in grp buy?) lol

Am confident my ride will last a decade but need to find a workshop in case itchy backside sell car still has resale value and warranty.

If bros interested in grp takeover of warranty, let's discuss with the workshop.

Actually why so many ppl want go buy warranty when your car no problem ah....? Save the money.

The positive side is we may end up driving our cars longer as sian to sell or hard to sell so we save more.

Just go regular servicing lo. I think only 1 in 1000 merc will engine suddenly spoil ba.

This is the time ppl want to take advantage of us. So don't let them. Don't sell your ride.

Some PI companies say will just takeover the warranty so no issue ma.

Pls list here the PI companies that don't want to take responsibility.

If they don't want to take responsibility, it just means they are willing to take the risk on their reputation and so be it, they are bound to fail anyway sooner or later. Ppl go for reputation and service. So goodbye to PI who don't want take responsibilIty and stand up during tough times. Those who do will only get stronger. Kudos to the ones who are willing to take up responsibility.

May I also ask what is the difference between buying a 4 year old C and C car that has no more warranty?

VS

buying a 4 year PI old car that has no more warranty?

If things spoil also same right? Need go find out lobang to repair only isn't it?

So can I conclude ppl are more worried that their ride spoil during warranty period???

Bro, it's all in the mind. Singaporeans buy 2nd hand cars must be 1 owner, low mileage, serviced regularly and like new.

IF there's service better resale value when sell car. Thats my rationale.

If it's a 4 yr car, agent or PI already doesn't matter.

U can go any workshop u like becoz agent no more warranty and u pay double. Outside workshop competent enough.

Unless u buy Porsche free 5 yr warranty and servicing then power!

I went to LTM (Lim Tan Motor) workshop at Sin Ming Blk 9 this morning and spoke to one of the Director. They are offering the warranty scheme and the charges will be base on 12mths or 25000km whichever come 1st. Asked him for group purchase discount and he had given me a quote base on 4-5 cars.. You may purchase 1-3 years of warranty and I also manage to get a copy of the warranty booklet for reference.. PM me if you like to know the yearly cost and like to take a look at the details of the coverage.

Another thing to highlight - I passed by Mega Auto (Khang Auto old workshop at Blk 21) and spoke to the irritating Supervisor that i liased with. He told me nothing can be done and he also being owe 2 months salary by his Company. They are now working for Mega Auto and they won't be responsible for the TWM warranty.
