Feel very sad today.. I did something ...

I sacked a staff for stealing.. Wanted to give him a chance to speak the truth but he didn't.. After further questioning, he admitted that he took the $$ from the cashier and claimed he need the $$ to buy food for tomorrow.. I melted upon hearing that and reprimanded him for foolish act.. He could have ask us for assistance but again i am not sure whether he cooked up another story to seek symphathy .. no choice have to ask him to leave as we have to set things right...

He cried before leaving...Haiz... Sad....

Was told one of the airlines here. There is one super long service worker took the inflight biscuit & got sack too. Is sad but that's life.

Perhaps to avoid such heartbreaking incident in the future, cashier box shld be out of bounds to some junior staff.

Perhaps can engage sista Chocs to "man" the counters for u..

Perhaps the Horsin club would jump straight into action..

Perhaps..

Like what the others have said, i will have did the same or not more. Emotions will play part also, but i think most properly will be like yours situation.

Bro, I believe you had done the right thing. You got to set things straight. If not staff will take advantage. From a business perspective, it is good that the staff leaves. You might not know how much he have already taken from you. Work is Work. Im proud of you that you set things right!.

Dear Bros & Sis

Thanks for consoling me over this incident... I am ascertain that I have made the right decision after reading all the comments posted... I am glad that i have bunch of friends here in this forum to share your thoughts and Brighten my days... :hand:

In fact, this is the 3rd time that we axed staff for stealing from our pockets.. The 1st time which happened 2 years ago, a malaysian staff did the same trick by pocketing cash paid by customer and amended the bill after customer left without taking the receipt.. We not convinced on his act and decided to test him by placing extra cash in the POS system.. Unfortunately, he failed the test out of greed and ended with a termination being served..

The 2nd incident happened 1 year ago, a Thai Kitchen staff took a substaintial amount of food items from the kitchen store on several occassion and she ignored warning by another staff .. Soon after that, the other staff decided to report the incidents to us and the same thing we served her an immediate termination.

This time, the service staff was a Pinoy and he did the same trick as the 1st culprit but he didn't seek the opportunity given to speak the truth. Before he left the restaurant he apologised to me for the wrong doing and asked for forgiveness..I told him i wanted to but you didn't.. I gave him $10 to help him with his meals for today sinced he cried that he did it becos he have no $$ to buy food..

We didn't report any of the 3 cases to the police as we do not want to end their future cos we believe their families still need them to bring home an income from a decent mean..

天网灰灰, 疏而不漏。。一失足成千古恨。。

疑人不用, 用人不疑... for those who understand the meaning of this chinese phrase do share with me your thoughts cos till today i still use it as one of the principle to run a business.. Maybe i am wrong, maybe i am right....:fish::fish:
