Thinking the download would take a long time, I left my iPad connected to my Macbook last night and went to bed. This morning when I checked the status, I almost freaked out. iTunes told me there was an error restoring my iPad. Damn... I disconnected the iPad but the screen only showed the Apple logo. Double damn... Connect and disconnect a few times to my Macbook, still no response. Sianz already.... Just as I was about to give up, my iPad chimed, telling me it's finally connected to my Macbook. Heng ah.... iTunes asked me if I wanted to update the software to ios5. Of course lah.... Phew.... everything turned out fine. Took damn long to restore my apps. But the important thing is, my ipad works fine now. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Bros, if you wanna upgrade to ios5, I suggest you do it a few days later. If you can wait, do it next week.

Data not lost! At 1st I thought so!

After update, has to restore software & do some initial setups including iCloud prompt by your phone/iPad. After that it will restore your applications & U are ready to go!:becky:

Dunno leh! Suppose to be able to backup there in heaven and also your mails, photos & videos but I prefer backup to my pc! :becky:

Yup, Steve Job is ready to take up the job, he will upload n backup yr data in HEAVEN and iClouds.

I faced exactly the same problem as you...but managed to install my iPad after 2nd attempt.

After installing the iOS5 on my iPhone4, a few Apps went missing and need to be reinstalled again...one of them is the Talkbox Apps...

bro blackknight...how to activate the free SMS huh...tried iMessage but dun seem to work leh? :confused:

it is automatically included, if the party that you are trying to sms has OS5 installed, the text box is blue and will show i message, if not, it is green and just show message.

Had just updated my ipad2 with the new OS 5. The process is quite fast. Only about 15 mins. Using Singnet 15Mbps broadband to do the job :becky:

1 shot, 1 kill. So far no problems encountered - touch wood.

if you press and hold the front button, you will also activate the VOICE CONTROL function!

When the voice control appears , speak clearly into it " for example: call joe"

the phone will reply you " calling joe" provided joe is in your contact list!

Try it , this is SIRI version 1...iphone 4s here i come...:whistle:

It can also control your music player etc
