Ya man, sometimes even is free going to & fro is a turn off. But buy with a peace of mind on minor defects. If major issue like engine die on you be it agent or PI. U won't get a replacement one to one exchange, I might be wrong.

Haha... okay lah. I once sold a 3 owner merc (i'm the 3rd). Took about 2 months to sell off. There is always a market!

You sold it yourself or you sold to dealer? If sell to dealer, think they'll probably squeeze price like hell...or doubt they may take in cars with that many transfer count - a risk to hold on too long before selling off?

Agree, there's always a market esp for Merc, probably just a matter of price and a good pre-purchase inspection from a trustworthy mechanic/workshop.

Sold it off myself. Still manage to make a profit after owning it for a year and selling it off later! Boy was I lucky.

Wow, you're good! Able to sell your car with that many transfer counts AND still make a profit! Amazing...Should have known you earlier and bought this car from Republic then can make a profit together..hehehe....

Oh, by the way, if I set my eye on a used Merc, could I call up C&C to check its maintainance record? I mean, would C&C entertain enquiry of this sort? Asking cause besides knowing if the previous owner has been servicing regularly, may also know if the odometer has been tampered or if there's any accident repair. Just 'don't know if C&C would entertain such call.

Any idea?

Sad...nowadays there is no more physical "stamping on service booklet" so one cannot really see any hard copy service record. Only AD workshop maintain such record in system and potential buyer can only check with AD workshop. But if AD workshop don't want to tell, then there's no means for potential buyer to check liao...

I remember I bought a used Volvo before and when I called their repair centre, they did tell me when was the last servie and if there's any accident repair record....apparently C&C did not entertain this sort of enquiry...

U might wanna try looking for an used one @ Republic - C&C used car branch.

Was told sometimes "under-pressure" from potential customer - they do reveal service records.

If it is buying from Republic, it is a done deal that the used car has been taken in by them already before they can list for sale. In that case why wouldn't they reveal the whole service record to next potential buyer? There should't be any more so-call P&C cause the potential buyer is buyer a car from Republic, not from a customer of Republic. I think Republic should reveal service record, right?

What if say, buy direct from owner or from other used car dealer? Is it possible to send back to C&C for pre-purchase inspection and from there to obtain detail service record?

Republic does promote their used MBs mentioning they have gone for xxx points of inspection by C&C. whether they will reveal past service records that I m not sure & not necessary a done deal.

C & C & Republic maybe separate legal entity.

I m not Republic!

U can ask them your Qs!
