Auto headlamp & Spare tyre

Hi,

Have 2 noob questions to seek advice from fellow gurus here :becky:

1. For 1.6 BE version, anyway to switch off headlamp ? So far I realised "Headlamp", "small lamp", "parking" & "Auto", but no way to off it entirely. My dad not used to having headlamp auto on even at 7plus in morning ...

2. Realised spare tyre is also matching tyres to the 4 pcs. But the tyres are directional. Being directional means the left side cannot be fixed onto the right side. Then the spare tyre how ah? I have not checked the spare tyre was for left or right, but suay suay if tyre pucntured, if on wrong side wonder how ? I know I can still fix it on and drive slowly till tyre shop, but wonder if they have thought of such details or I am not not aware of some workaround :bounce:

Thanks in advance ...

Cheers ... Red Devil

12 o'clock should be the off position for light switch and the original spare tyre is non directional, so you can use on both side. I would suggest you take out the spare and get yourself familiarise with the tyre and tools.

Do MB still give a pair of nice cotton gloves with the spare tyre and tools?

Think the newer MBs are the same for the lighting switch positions i.e 12 o'clock position is Auto and no position to switch of lights.

Sometimes I've to gesture to the car washing attendant when goin for car washing that I cannot switch off all the lights. At best is to switch on the small dim light position.

I tot switch to '0' at 12 o clock will be everything off??? I always do that. As for the surround lights, you can disable it in ur light setting.

12 o'clock is "AUTO" mode right ? surround light only when engine is just on/off and it stays for 1min or so?

Auto is 'A'.......'0' is off.

Ya..surrounding light is when u locked the car, the the eyelid pole lights and fog lights will light up. Its a MB bling factor IMO...haha...thus far got quite a few ppl telling me that I forgot to turn off my lights. I just told them, "thanks, it will auto off" and then they look at my car and the lights just switched off by itself. hahaha!

IIRC all MY2010 has no 'O' off position but only 'A' at 12 o'clock position.

All current W204 & W212 at least has no 'O' off position and only 'A' Auto at 12 o'clock position.

i. Found the cotton gloves with the tools for the spare tyres.

ii. SE told me when i took over the car to put the light switch at 12 o'clock - position "A". The new model does not have the "O" position anymore. The light is at auto all the time and I am still not used to having light turn on during the day. There is a "P" position at 9 o'clock but I am not sure of the function.

Cheers

Wonder why the OFF option is excluded  Cut cost ?:tsk: Or maybe in Europe they "force" drivers to on the headlamp with slightest dark environment ???

I'm quite happy that mine has the "0" option. :)

Is not force is for safety reason. Driving without headlight "on" in the nite is extremely dangerous.
