if no hurry, maybe wait for the 1.8L C180 CGI to filter onto the 2nd hand market. the CGI engine is a gem.

Why not come to the meetup and have a chat with owners and look at the different C-class?

Depends what u looking for, coz is depends very much on individual wants & needs. Yap is best u come to our monthly meetup on the last sunday of the month. U can ask all you want by then. Good luck in yr search. Also, do a search as we hv discuss in depth on these 2 models, kompressor & CGI (turbo). I would prefer the CGI for the power & new engine.

Wow.. June 09 with only 16000km and $4300 service credit... How much is the asking price? The car look like in mint condition. Mine Feb 10 car already done 17k+ ...

If you are worried about reliability, fret not... the W204 C class is very reliable, very well built and good to drive and own.

CGI or Kompressor .... well, C180 CGI is better on power compare to 1.6 Kompressor C180K BlueEfficiency. Both 156 bhp , but CGI has 250Nm torque at 1600rpm compared to 230Nm at 2800rpm for Kompressor.

Drag Coefficient - both cars are 0.27 Cd ... Fuel consumption wise, official figures indicate 1.6Kompressor to be better at 7.7L/100km which is about 12.99km/L compared to 8.1L/100km for CGI which is about 12.35km/L. Practically, both are about the same. I get about 9km/L for my 1.6 Kompressor with heavy feet.... if you are light on the throttle, i think 12km/L is not a problem.

Specs, equipment and auto transmission, both are identical.

The main difference economically is, 1.6 Kompressor you pay 1.6L roadtax. 1.8CGI you pay 1.8L roadtax... but the difference annually is only about $500 i think. Insurance wise i think its about the same premium.

If you are an environmentally conscious guy, you may want to know that emission standard for C180K is Euro4 whereas C180CGI is Euro5.

If i have a choice, i would want to get the C180CGI ... mainly because its newer and more powerful engine. Other than that,... not much to choose between the 2 ... of course other than lower roadtax and lower COE category for the 1.6.

Anyway, buy either one, you wont regret it.
