Anyone tried Federal 595 tyres?

Anybody tried Federal 595 tyres? How are they in the wet?

I tend to put more weightage on wet weather handling and stopping.

Feedback on other tyres would be appreciated.

225/45 * 17 & 245/40 * 17

Heard they are Taiwanese but good reviews in Australia. Then chanced upon some user-reviews in 2008 that these are poor in the wet! :)

I just want something cheap to tide me over till next year when I change car.

Otherwise the Hankook V12 Evo - $161 front, $224 rear

Federal $140 front, $ 160 rear.

they are made in china if i not wrong...

bro my advise is you can save on other mods but never save on tyres...they are your only contact b/w you and the road...alternatively go for 2nd hand tyres instead...

I get what you mean, I can well afford CSC3 but just felt it a waste when I trade it in next year, I do very little mileage and I dont drive this into Msia.

Plus, the reviews from Australian users were quite good.

Made in Taiwan apparently.

Anyway have ordered a set and will be fitting them tomorrow, shall see if the $600 is well-spent or penny-wise-pound-foolish!

I agree with you about the importance of good tyres.

I had a Subaru Forestor Turbo once, on my first drive in the rain, the back end slid off slightly as I accelerated normally turning right. I replaced the standard "dual purpose" Yokohama Geolanders with Dunlop LeMans which I thought were quite good and comfortable.

Was told that this tyre has a stiff sidewall and slightly noisy. Nevertheless, fitted a set and with 240kpa/34psi the front tyres looked 'under-inflated' so I dont think the side-walls are stiff?

This morning I upped the pressures to 36psi/250kpa. The steering feels a bit lighter and more to my preference. Noise level, right now, seems no different from the Continentals.

Anyway for the money, I think they are OK. Those wanting further feedback, please feel free to ask me when the tyres have clocked more mileage.

Oh, made in Taiwan.

Tyre shop had said that they found many Continentals cracked after use.

Just change my 4 tyres of my W203 to Kumho brand from my fren tyre shop, 215/45/R18. I must say it has really good grip both on dry & wet road. And the good thing is, it is very low road noise. Paid only $160/tyres.

Cheerz!

That's really cheap. What's the model of the tyres? Where's your friend's shop located?
