My spouse just purchased her C180. Wld like to ask on what's the offset for the original 17 " rims. Also are there tuning support for the C180 kompressor?

Eg like mtm stage 1 for audis

Bro..that's fast! Right after I link you from vagsg...welcome!

There are some piggy back tune...but sorry to disappoint you, there's very few or none tuning house for mercs here. Quite unlike VWs or Audi. I did enquire before but the general feedback is that merc's ECU cannot be hacked...sigh.

Stage 2 - SB, K-BOX

Stage 3 - SB, K-BOX, K-HEADER & DOWNPIPE

Stage 4 - SB, K-BOX, K-HEADER & DOWNPIPE, VAETH INTERCOOLER

Stage 5 - SB, K-BOX, K-HEADER & DOWNPIPE, VAETH INTERCOOLER, C230 SC (only for W203/CL203"clc" can add this)

Stage 6 - GET A C63 AMG LA....

**C230 SC useless to add onto W204 as its the same size.... meaning the best among all...

and of cos when starting on any STAGE, must already Add bodykits, exhaust kit, BBK, Big and light Rims & tires..:whistle::whistle:

IIRC W203 with the M271 engine came in 3 variants.

C180 - 143 hp , C200 - 163 hp & C230 -184 hp.

Our Bro CL204 used to be with Diamler parts told me that MB do not make a bigger SC for the M271 W203 C230 but actually it came with a smaller pulley to run the SC faster for a bigger boost.

I have yet to see any one even Kleemann comes out to have Dyno results showing what they can achieved other than just the K-Box.

They showed what can be achieved at crank but a loss of low end torque until the engine RPM go pass at abt 3300 rpm with something less than 25hp at the crank.

Considering our sg road, how many time we go passed 3300 rpm.

Sure add headers + down pipe + Intercooler + K bos + pulley kit + bigger fuel pump + smaller SC pulley aka C230 SC.

Does it show something like 60 hp increase like a 2.0L A4 or GTI with a simple ecu remap for as low as $1000?

However I have Dyno results showing how disappointing it can be going down that road.

MB ECUs are LOCKED!!!!!

Unlike VAG cars it used to be so easy to remap the ECU.

Told nowadays like new Audi, the ECU is locked too but still accessiblewith tuners they worked with like mTm or ABT.

Had owners of Audi cars who remapped outside and have their maps reflashed back to stock when they send in for servicing, then ECU locked....hahaha!

Tod it's matter of time that other tuners will be able to access it with physically taking out the ECU to remap it.

Having fried ECU can be costly!

MOD DUN SCARE - SCARE DUN MOD.

IMHO for our normal Merc cars dun go waste money to chase the so few extra "hp" at the wheels. Go enjoy your ride!

agreed with you on the ECU tuning portion and after all this mods ( dun think it can gain up to 60hp ), been there done that.................

but i do drive passed 3300rpm most of the time........but at NSH and Sepang, kekekekeke

Many thanks for the replies.. Guess she'll not go for the power mods since it's not much gains.. But anyone knows the original offset for the stock 17s. Is it 50? She def wants to get a nice set of wheels.. As for stage 6, I shd be fulfilling that on her behalf in time to come.. Haha

Maybe can try by having a good set of spark plugs..

Sprint Booster

use 5w to 30w engine oil..

use lighter rims

should have better rev.................

U can check out this site!

If your wife C180 stk rims are there, the offset for the wheel are stated including the tire sizes.

They are usually 7.5" x 17 - ET47 all round unless they are staggered with front remaining usually the same & rear 8.5" x 17 - ET58
