SE told my friend that S$3k service credit can only last for three servicing for C180K!!!

Anyone here knows the cost of each servicing?

Thank you.

Depending on service A or B .... i just finished my first 15,000km service... cost about $420. The damn 1.6L engine swallowed 5.5L of engine oil (i am charged for 5.5L) .... i was quite surprised.

But i have to say i am quite satisfied by their service. Guess i was lucky.

btw, i am driving 1.6SC C180K .... i wish i have the chance to buy C180CGI , but when i bought the car, CGI not available yet.

Lady SE told me each servicing cost $600 to $800, 3rd servicing cost almost 1K henec 3K credit can only last for 3 servicing.

I guess average drive of 2500KM per month will see 3K credit last for 2 years.

Anyone knows is there validity of our service credit....

Hum...maybe CGI engine has bigger lub oil sump hence servicing cost is relatively higher...

CGI engine needs 6 litters of engine oil. Did my 5k Km (1st service) in MBM on my own accord yesterday. Just oil change (Mobil 1 trisynthetic 0W-40) with filter costs $218 only. Good service...only 45min.

Hi jtang,

Thanks for your confirmation. Btw, is it necessary to have oil change at 5k km? Standard volume of lub oil is 4 litters. Do you get to keep the remaining 2 litters?

MBM charge 6 lit taken from their barrel, not the 4 lit pack. You pay what you get, no leftover. I always felt that 15000km is bit too long, esp with the turbo CGI. No harm sending in earlier, in fact I always love the Mobil 1 oil....gives me a peace of mind.

It's from C&C. Saving the the credit for 15k km service & others. Anyway, C&C will need half a day to do this job, & may try to discourage me from servicing too early. Just my 2 cents.

My miledge is not due for its first servicing at C&C yet. Does anyone know what type and brand of engine oil C&C puts into your car?

Another question is when we chooses to service our car outside C&C, do we need to be bothered that the workshop uses genuine mercedes oil filter, because if not, C&C would know that you have use "outside" workshops. Would C&C then say that it's a good case to void the car's warranty? Anyone to share their experiences?

Thanks.

Like most ADs, C&C uses Shell Helix Ultra. Some ppl who drive bread n butter jap family saloons say SHU is lousy (dunno on what basis) but I've been using it on my my other TC cars all these years and it's never given me any problems even on recommended 15k intervals. As long as the oil is MB229.3 compliant, it shld be ok. After spending over $150k on a car, dun bother abt saving a few bucks on small incidentals like OEM oil filter. Besides, got enuf service credits to last throughout the warranty period so make full use of it and dun give C&C a chance to give excuses on the warranty.

IIRC, C&C uses Shell Helix Ultra. MBM is a big time workshop & is 'endorsed' by sgmerc. You should rest assured that they use genuine oil filter. Btw, MBM gives 30% discount for labour to sgmerc members.

In order not give any clue that I serviced outside, I didn't reset the service warning light. That way, I still service at C&C for my 15k km.

That's some good tips there - not resetting the service light.

If I am not wrong, the 1st servicing at 15k should cost about $350-$400 (in the region). Then for the 30k serving it's probably about S$600 plus. The most shocking and expensive one is the 60k serving. I picked up a brochure from C&C when I collected my car and the brochure mentioned that the 60k servicing is the Full Maintenance thingey costing some S$1600+!!! This does not includes change of parts!! And all C&C does is "check check check" which all mechanics outside are able to do just the job, right?

Yes! I did my previous W211 20K km @ MBM.

They use Mobil I

C&C in default use Shell Helix.

Someone mentioned in the forum sometime back that we can request to use Mobil 1 @ C&C.

I have good experience with Mobil I!

Can U imagine my 7 years old Prado 3.0 Turbo Diesel in Pleasure Island where good mechanics are hard to cum by!

So far diligently change Mobil 1 every 10k km and the last 7 years have been peaceful.

Just confirmed with the SA that you can opt for Mobil 1 and top up the difference, if any. If u dun tell them in advance, by default they will use Shell Helix...
