It's in today's papers too. Only US market so far...C&C has no news yet.

Just moments ago Mercedes-Benz announced a recall on 85,000 of their vehicles because of steering issues. Mercedes is recalling the 2010 C-Class and the 2011 E-Class models, because the high pressure power steering line may have a connection fitting which is not tight enough. This can cause the power steering fluid to leak out of the line.

In the report by Mercedes, they said, “Owners may not have sufficient control of the vehicle under circumstances such as parking where maximum power steering is required.” This in turn “could lead to a vehicle crash.”

The company has not stated if there were any accidents caused by this problem, however, they did get numerous complaints from vehicle owners.

Hi,

You may like to check with your SE again. I got a call from my SE tis afternoon telling me my W204 CGI is part of the recall.

C & C will be sending u a letter regarding it by Nov 2010. They'll be arranging all affected cars to send in for servcing/replacement of the steering wheel issue.

Regards

Hi,

Does that mean no call,no recall?Do we have to call SE to check or just wait for info?

Do not worry, as it is a LTA RULE in Singapore for agent / distributor to inform and rectified all affected vehicles. Google LTA and you can find the recall news there..usually with chassis number etc.
