TWM Workshop to recommend...

Hi all,

Any good TWM workshop to recommend that specializes in suspension? Just got my e200 coupe and found out it came with shock absorber defective. Had front shock absorbers replaced by Khangs BUT the ride has been quite bumpy after the repairs. Whereas going over the same roads on my second car, the ride is a lot less bumpy than the coupe.

Appreciate any advise on this...

To be honest, Khangs is a rather disappointing experience...

Ermm to my knowledge khangs is more of a transmission specialist no ? Yep suspension check with mbm. Ride being more bumpy due to different cars having different spring and absorber rebound rates I'd think. What absorbers did you change to ?

This warrenty is near 'useless', tried claiming against it for a defective part in my other car & was met with lots of stone walling, a few friends of mine also faced the same problem.

However i've a neighbor who bought a warrenty direct from them for S$5k (Extended warrenty) had all his claims met prompty by said vendor. Therefore if yours from PI then hope for miracle cos from what i know (limited), PI only pays approx S$800 for a 5 years warrenty :becky:

Interesting!!! So based on what you and yr frens encounter, it is advisable forgo the warranty from PI and get it directly from TWM?

My neighbor got it direct from TWM for $2K plus only and warranty by a reputable workshop after the 3 yrs warranty from PI.

Just curious, there are many types of package warranty by TWM or pricing depending on the car model? Care to share? as is important for us if we choose the PI route.

Yes, tell PI to deduct 'Warrenty' charges out & you go approach Khang themselves direct but expect to pay more. As for packages, think you need to speak with them directly.

My GTR immobilizer steering lock faulty & khang kept stone walling me so replaced it at my own cost (S$1600). Unfortunately problem on GTR only crop up after i purchased my C63, hence warrenty also bought by PI fm them

However make sure that whatever packages you buy fm Khang, make sure that your preferred workshop is in their list cos if not then you'll be sorry for they have known to ask affected owners cars to be 'inspected & ractified' by them (you wouldn't want that if you see their workshop/ Tools/ Men & so forth).

Just curious...other than TWM or sold by khang, any other places sell extended warranty packages. star used to have, but stop selling now.

If star is the last workshop in sin, i'll take my ride to malaysia- believe this speaks vol. enuf said :becky:

Thanks for e infro, is TWM belongs to khang's auto? Coz u mention buy direct from khang. I think khang is only one of the approve workshop?

You are rite buddy, TWM is owned & operated by Khang  Actually TWM has a host of workshops as the authorized ones to go when it fails but like what i've stated earlier, if warrenty are purchased by PI from them then expect 'DELAYS/Stone walling' when it comes to claims for defective parts cos i believe Khang/TWM is a typical chinese businessman in that you can't expect 5 years warrenty of S$800+ or - to cover everything or anything except a false sense of security untils something goes wrong :becky:

However like i've said, TWM or Khang will ask you to have your car sent over to their workshop & like i've said earlier, you wouldn't want them touching your car much less fixing it :censored: If i wouldn't want Star to touch my car then i believe you'll agree that i'll run or push my car far & fast away from Khang

Honestly i would:-

(1) Ensure PI's car is min 20-30% cheaper than agent plus comes higher specs cos if there's any repairs, it'll still be cheaper if cost is on you if you seek workshops in the likes of Autospritze to have them insolate problem for you & buy parts seperately from many Resellers out there.

(2) Asks for refunds from the warrenty your PI is purchasing for you.

If one sticks strictly to the above then getting a PI car is a breeze & painless yet cost saving+ enjoyable
