Hi all, I am planning to buy 2004 - 2005 Mercedes Benz C180ML. Can the bro here give me some advice on this car? Expecially the fuel consumption of the car cos I am planning to drive the car until scrap.

Regards

Frankie

Hi Frankie,

The W203 boys will reply you shortly. Here's a link to another thread which contains some minor issues you may have to potentially fix if you acquire a W203. It's a great car for a great price. :)

Potential Issues with W203

Fuel Consumption (mixed models by members)

Depreciation - old thread but figures may help with your research if the links are still valid

Hi and welcome to SGMEC,

You might want to consider getting a 2005 C200 instead, same rd tax slight higher price but better engine respond....and easier mod in future

Happy hunting.

Thanks for your advice. I did come across a thread saying that C200 petrol consumption will be higher than C180. Nevertheless, I will monitor both car selling price. Where can I find the specification for c180ML & C200??

There's a lot more than the extra hp at least for the 2003/2004 before may '05 models.

I can remember vaguely the C200 came in avantgarde model, 20 more hp, full memory front seats, full leather seats, 17" wheels.

The W203 is not a drinker other than a driver with a heavy right foot & brake happy.

My previous C180ML gets me avg FC of 8.3L/100km or 12km/L and can go as low as <6.5L/100km on the highway.

The C200ML will not be too far off.

If no budget constraints - go for the W203 C200ML.

I kicked myself for chosing the C180ML & not buying the C200ML.

I went on a fruitless hunt with $$$ & time wasted to get the 20 hp diff. from the C200ML.

Yes definitely enjoying the tips and tricks passed on while on this forum.

Actually the reason why I said I luv my car is that two weeks after getting it, got kiss by taxi in the back. Taxi's lamp shattered and bonnet dented but my car only suffered a 5 cm crack at the back bumper. The safety of the car is undeniable. So sent my ride to workshop for repair (four days) and having been feeling TERRIBLE without her. Now i gotten her back, woohoo.. ! So for those still deciding and have young kids, MB is the choice.
