Advice for good 24hrs Roti Prata in the City

Have a childhood friend coming to Singapore next Month. He's gotta a busy schedule, but am meeting him early at 5.30am for breakfast. He is staying in the City (marina area), and was hoping to get Roti Prata.

Any recommendations for good 24hrs roti prata around town? Only place I know is either Jalan Kayu (too far) & Mustafa (not tried).

Try the one at the Balestier food court along Balestier road. It's 24h, too. IMHO, it trumps Jln Kayu easily. And for the novelty factor, about half the time, the stall's manned by a PRC who tosses the prata like a pro.

Hey dude not exactly around town but near enough is Prata House @ 246K Upp Thompson Rd (opp Thompson Plaza). 24 hr joint.

I personally like Zam Zam, 697 North Bridge Rd opp. end of Arab St where the mosque is located BUT they only open at 8am. The murtabak here is POWER damn solid. Crispy and generously chunky filling.

Guys. Thanks again for the advice. Went to Bencoolen at 5.30am, and it was open as suggested. Also free parking, cause can park car at roadside.

OK, last question (I promise). He was saying there is a boneless duck rice stall somewhere in Clementi?? Any idea where? Blk Number & Street name would be appreciated.

I am such a lousy Singapore guide.

Hi ping,

you can try NUS Cheese Prata, ( near Pasir Panjang Road ), i think from Marina: use ECP to AYE then exit Clementi exit....

* alternatively packet first then go eat at his house..............

cheers

....hee hee...there r 2 stalls there..along the same stretch.

- one is Almeen or sumthing (yellow Signboard)

- the other one I can't remember name..but Green signboard..

..Personally onli ha.....i prefer the Green signboard one...

..FYI ppl...now that area along and surrounding the eateries is having constructions for MRT tunnel...so parkings r horrendous.

..oso Courts FOC parking has shut, since Courts has moved out.

Option 1:

1 alternative, drive past the entrance u would normally enter for the eateries. Enter thru the 2nd entrance on yr left, immediately after the said first entrance.

u might be lucky to find a few lots. If u only wan 2 pack food, park temporary in the loading bay area, which u will see on yr left, along that same stretch of small road, just outside the previous courts...(cos I always do that..hee..i knw bad la...short while onli..)

Opiton 2

If intention is to Pack food from Boon Tiong Kee Chicken Rice. Just drive past, like Drive Thru at MacDonald's concept! Place orders to the Service Staffs..they are so used to it. They will tell u approximate waiting time. Remember to ask them how much yr bill will be and if u intend to give them exact or big notes. So they can prepare yr change, where necessary. drive away sumwhere nearby to wait...i always drive back to same loading bay outside previous Courts to wait, and drive back to pick up by time given by BTK.

(Yes..I do that all the time too..they knw my red car lor..:becky:)

Option 3

Park behind ..along chun Tin Road, or best..turn into the private estates...IF REALLY desperate...Lor Pisang Batu, Udang etc..sumtimes..u can find parking spaces too...

...lol...hopefully these small information helps....I used to lived behind in one of the Lor...so knew the plc rather well....:bounce:
