W211 Head Unit replacement

Hi Bro's,

I've just got a 2005 W211 and would like to know if it's possible to change the current stock head unit (audio 20) to one that has a LCD screen which can do the works(GPS, DVD,etc.)

Can you do program the auto circulation to contiues "ON" everytimes i start the engine? Any hardware or just plain software will able to do the job? My ride is A207. If ya, what is the charges? Please advise.

yes, you can, any brand LCD DVD player can do, however, you will loose your steering control for volume & radio station selection, W211 is an old unit liow, most audio shop certain master the art to upgrade for you.

I got a pioneer DVD head installed with TV mobile.

If U wanna after mkt 2 Din HU with all in one functions with steering control can be done at quite a few reputable Car Audio Installers.

All they need to do is to connect the after mkt with the Canbus so that U maintain your steering volume control.

IMHO, I would recomment the Kenwood set cos it can use Garmin GPS Maps for easy Map updates.

IMHO The COMMAND is a very interesting pc of equipment though costly but original MB. The Linguatronic Voice Control is pretty accurate.

Not only Voice Control for calling your contacts but to control the COMMAND functions with your voice.

If I fit COMMAND NTG4 on my ride, I gonna add in also after mkt MMI.

I've my reasons but die die I m for COMMAND even though currently I have Garmin GPS, Dig TV, Reverse Cam playing through the stock LCD screen.

just an update, rang Chuah Sing Audio by chance and now i am able to get a canbus connector to go with my pioneer HU, mean i will able to resume my steering control...cant wait to go over tomor...

i m wondering..what m i gonna do with my existing unit!, also how much is the damage..if i wanted GPS,rev cam together.:music:

reverse camera add on will only costs you another few hundreds, GPS i still prefer to get those windscreen mount which keep your head on road...
