The call from the darkside has been ringing in my ears for the past weeks and I finally succumbed to it. I drove into driveway, parked in front and step into....VOLVO.

Very promptly, "Darth" had his "stormtrooper" approached me and treated me nicely with details of their "spaceships". I think I am getting old because I went straight for the XC60, V50 and was eventually shown (read lured) to the V70. The next thing I knew, Mrs was happily sitting in the C70.

Anyway, the V70 is beautiful and gadget loaded; I like it as well as the XC60.

Oh well, money no enough. So I resisted the force and beat a retreat to my good old "millenium falcon". Let's wait for the new S60 to arrive. :becky:

Any comments on Volvo cars?

Ahh....you are so right about the resale part....that's why it's "Volvo for life".

I must say Volvo has improved in their car design, externally and internally. With the real wood on the center console, it's so IKEA.

Somehow, the interior design makes me feel very relax, blame it on the floating console and the curves surfaces inside.

volvo is quite nice. i almost bought a s60 last time, but decided against it as i wanted something slightly younger looking. otherwise the car rocks. i love the child seat thingy is th s60 eventhough i'm not married. haa haaa. i think the new s60 will be better as well.

but as for resale value as per the other swedish brand saab, volvo is not really sticking out. so it is actually better to buy a resale model. just my 2 cents worth. cheers~!

Good solid drive ... had the S60T5 and was a monster .. been doing NS runs almost very month and superb ...

the driver seat in all Volvos are excellent ... very very comfortable .. you got to experience it to understand ...

they have put in more effort and the interior has improved quite abit ... not a fan of the floating console though ...

the XC60 is very appealing ....

the V70 looks great but the turning radius (as with most Volvo) is a nightmare ....

the servicing was good but as with all marques, depends on the assigned SA ... there are a couple of w/s outside that services Volvo ...

but not much option for cosmetic mods ...

I test drove a S60T, fell in love immediately with the performance. Almost bought immediately, until i called my both mechanics to check. They strongly advised me not to cos the maintainance can be extremely high. I settled for the C class eventually, and has been very happy that i made the right choice.

I had my T5 for awhile and drove it quite hard with very frequent NS runs ... had no major problem and with 15K service interval ... I thought the car was reliable and stress-free.

I had to change engine mounting and skim rotors/change brake pads ... AD was on the high side and I did the change at outside w/s for lesser and no prob ...

But the number of outside w/s is limited ... not sure if there are more now ... my neighbour bought one S60 and within 3 months had a second one ... another neighbour up the road also own a S60 ...
