went to c&c after hearing very noisy "tug" "tug" sound when passing over humps and road strips.

They acknowledged that there a batch of cars (Nov- Jan) were fitted with faulty shock absorbers.

Another friend of mine also found the same and corrected it at c&c

Bro & Sis pls check esp for those whom has purchase during Nov 09 Jan 10

you are right...when i was driving my previous Nov 09 C200...i had the same problem...at first they claimed that it was the steering shaft, oiled my damper but still could not solve the problem... then went back again KPKB and finally they replaced the shock absorber in Mar 10 & problem solved...:tsk: :tsk:

I got my C200 in Oct - already the car ride has become very bumpy and noisy...

Should I also go back and KPKB and ask them to check?

To Apple088 - you just went in for a check up?

If my understanding is correct, lowering/sport springs put increase stress on the stock shock absorbers. So if u mod springs, n shocks wear out, technically its not their problem.

Eibach Prokit is supposed to be used with stock shocks though, but i don't think C&C will see the merit in that..

Eibach Prokit spring rates are not that harsh. Shock absorbers are tough items, they do not wear out so easily - definitely not within the first 30,000 - 40,000 kms of normal everyday driving.

Hi windss, I didn't mod the car. It's in stock condition..... So cannot be the prob, more of c & c side...

My car mileage only 1800++km.... The customer service guy suggested that I bring in my car for the 'tug' sound together when I reached the 10000 km servicing. I told him no, I want it fix now than later...

I face the same problem whenever i drive over a hump, especially when driving in & out check point Causeway Sin & Malaysia. Sent in my car for servicing at the same time check out this problem, mileage 7700km nia, because more then 1 years since i collected my car never change engine oil.

MB advisor told me in the phone it is very common for this problem because of the suspension mounting. I told him after i sent down my car for testing then he can decide.

After testing, lan lan siao siao agree with me. Left my car there, took a cab back to office.

Then he call me up again after a few hours...he say again is common, reason? ADVANGARD model suspension is more stiff then those ELEGANCE model, thats where the sound came from...even they change to a new one, the sound still will appear. I told him i got four cars, all change performance suspension, never

i face this problem before. i told him i do not want to hear this sound again. Furthermore, i told him to confirm my stand, i even went to showroom test drive the showroom car and no such problem after so many people test drive it, milieage far far more then my car. then he say check what can he do.

Another few hours later, he call up and say they decided to change a new one for me, but have to leave my car there for replacement of suspension. Now my turn lan lan siao siao lor.

Collected the next day, perfect liao lor, no funny sound anymore. But in the process of dismantle parts for replacement, prepare for some scratcher, example : rims chip off abit, engine compartment suspension position there paint gone off, aircon position in full blast when collecting the car, milieage gone up by nearly 20km---all this due to bei song? Na bei, C & C not belonging to anyone of us here mah,tio bo? my car somemore is still under warranty mah, why must protect until like that?

Always don't like to sent my car to agent for servicing, first, you don't get to see who mingle with your car & how gentle or rough they are, second, na bei damn expensive...(If not because of the warranty, i would sent to my own workshop outside liao.)

So all the folks here, if you think you can live with that sound coming out there, bare with it. (me regret sending it replace it, actually i can live with it if i know this kind of workmanship & attitude)

Cheers

Wow!!!! Didnt realise so many ppl have the squessing sound when folding side mirror.

Send back car to C&C during 1st service in Mar 2010, and they spray so much WD40 that till today still can see the oil dripping stain especially after raining. BUT sound still there...so live with it I guess

Think it is a common problem for W204 folding mirror.

My previous ride (W204) had this noise when unfolding, just 6 months after I took the car from C&C. Went back to C&C for servicing and they cannot detect any problem, but just applied oil.

After 3 months, the sound came back, and would only happen if the car was parked overnight (mirror folded over night).

No permanent solution accept to oil the hinges.

Cheers,

Mark
