Swopping of head unit

Hi, I found a used DVD head unit with GPS ,thinking of swopping to my E240 ( currently with the standard headunit ,CD only ), anyone can recomend a experienced audio shop for the swop....thanks in advance

hi. i recommend Chuan Sing at Serangoon North or Toh Guan.

Very good audio specialist. Reasonably priced.

They have done my prev rides b4.

Heard that several leading brands like Alpine & Pioneer will have HUs with GPS that are compatiable to work with your steering controls.

However so far I heard only Kenwood works with Garmin Maps whereas the others work with Window CE based Aigis Map.

Chuan Sing, AutoSpritze, Swift Motion, New Generation & several other known installers should be able to give U better advice what are the options U have for your E240.

if its comand then it wont be plug and play you need coding too... no workshop can do...

haha nah no workshop that ive found so far in singapore can do it

Where did you get it and what's the damage ?

Its the original mercedes DVD HU from another 240, car going for export, was offer for a swop. offered 500 but did not get it cuz couldn't get anyone to fit, have check with Mercedes Service Centre , they also say cannot swap.

... that is bs. the old w211 sure can do at autospritze (@ eunos)! new models can't say, old one sure can.

edit: c&c sure won't do for you one. they don't do retrofit.
