Damn Sian - Lost my W204 Key :(

Had a really rotten day yesterday...

Went out for lunch with my colleague and decided against driving...so we took a cab there and back...

Later in the afternoon, realise my W204 key missing - most likely dropped inside one of the cabs (probably the one back to my office) - made a lost & found report with Comfort but the hopes of seeing it again is not high :(

In the end, have to take a cab home and back to office to retrieve my car with my spare key...wasted 3 hours in the process ^)#@$(@@#

Asked my SE - she said I need to go down to the service centre to place an order and then wait 2 weeks for the spare key to arrive!

Does anyone know how much a spare key would cost? sigh

just a tiny note, some cab drivers pass it to the police post.

you might try calling the larger hq for lost and found.

that was situation 1, and that was how i found my laptop (at jurong hq)

in situtation 2, the comfort delgro forgot about your request, sends the item to LTA after 60 day of no claim. could try LTA if you're persistant

Thanks for the tips mate :)

Will definitely call Comfort again to check...

If nothing, I may try the police HQ for lost and found

sorry to hear that! it is not easy to duplicate MB key. U need to take out the EIS, ESL,ECU etc from yr car, take out the EEPROM, obtained the source code then use a programmer to program onto a blank key. Check with MBM, i think they charge lower than C&C for new key.

Cheerz!

That's quite "cheap" liao...

Was at Marina Square today and there was a small booth that duplicates keys include car keys...

Apparently they can do Merc keys as well but they said they need to order from Deutscheland and it would cost S$1500!

Will probably give MBM a call if I still can't find my key...

Thanks bro :)

I think they are hoping to chop carrot i.e. those who did not enquire about the price from AD or other places...

Can't remember the name of the shop but it's just behind the GNC and opposite Guardian...

  • 4 weeks later...
Guest xtrocious

Just a quick update...

Still have not found my key yet :(

But I did call C&C service centre and to my surprise, the cost of the replacement is not as expensive as expected.

It's S$638 (all-in) and will only take 2 weeks to arrive.

By comparison, MBM (KBS) is S$680 (before GST) and takes at least 2 months...

Can - called and checked with them...

But since C&C is actually cheaper and faster, why need to do it at MBM? :P
