Million-dollar hearse in S'pore touted as first of its kind in region

SINGAPORE: S$18,888 - that's the cost of saying goodbye in style in a hearse specially imported from Europe.

So far, four of the deceased in Singapore have ridden to the afterlife in the million-dollar hearse.

Singapore Funeral Services says the hearse is the first of its kind in Asia.

Three more, still alive, have indicated interest in making use of the vehicle.

So, what do Singaporeans think of the hearse?

"I think it's kind of respect to the deceased....most important to give a grand last trip," said a woman.

"I prefer to respect the person while he's still alive rather than when he's gone," said another.
