wow bro...after collecting your new ride still got $$$ to take back from C&C...not bad  :becky:

I traded in my 4 mths old Audi which I paid cash.

I wanted to pay cash for the W212 but the SE insisted that I should take the 50% loan with 1 year interest free and no monthly payment.

At the end of the 11th month, I can opt to pay up the balance cash with no interest or penalty. So ok lol! :becky:

Your thread and pictures helped me in visualizing the GC-05K before I took the plunge... Thanks! I got mine staggered in 18"... would have love the 19" but it's just not practical in terms of performance and comfort.:becky:

Yeah, it's not commonly fitted on Mercs...even in US/UK Merc forums :becky:

I guess a major part of the reason being traditionally, only Euro/western rim producers have fitments that can suit the mercs/bmws properly.

In recent years, the Japanese have expanded their product range to include conti's fitments especially with respect to the proper offsets that can cater to those going for staggered setups.

Credit must also be given to Daniel from LS who ordered my staggered setup which flush nicely (without need for spacers) just by that few seconds of eyeballing my stock rims.:thumb:

Nice Prodrive forged monoblock...must be damn light man...what is the weight? :thumb:

Not sure but should be in the high 7s to max 8kg/piece (rear should be slightly heavier than the front due to slightly more metal)...easily >4-5kg weight savings per rim despite upsizing.

From the web a 19x9JJ Gc-05K is 8.7kg

JoshL's 17X7.5JJ is <7kg

so extrapolate from there:becky:

Anyhow, the weight savings from the stock 17" cast rims can be immediately felt...improved acceleration, better suspension response to uneven tarmac resulting in improved comfort (surprising when you considered the fact that the sidewall profile is less) and car sticking to the road better.

Bcos is wider than by an inch & low profile tyres = better road holding. After u install yr lowering stuffs, u can enjoy a better cornering at reasonable high speed :).
