Go to Pin Liang & they can probably offer you this solution for BT & iPod integration

Dension Gateway 500

For just BT, I would recomment Fiscon Basic

hi there,

Can you provide the contact number for Pin Liang?

BTW, is there any installers out there who can activate the built-in phone feature? I would like to put a 2nd SIM into the car. Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Spike

hi there!

I'm driving a used CLK 280 and I noticed that there's a car phone feature but it's not activated. I called C&C to check if they can activate it but they tell me it can only be turn on from factory.

I use to drive a Volvo with a carphone and all you need to do is insert a SIM so I can't understand why it's so complicated to turn on the phone feature.

Cheers,

Spike

When U pressed the phone button, what is the message U see?

If the msg is "Phone system not activated" - U might wanna go & ask MBM or other workshop with Star Diagnostic System whether it will work if they go into the ECU by the Star Diagnostic System to activate it.

I believe if the feature is installed but not activated, U might "have a chance".

I saw the same msg on a W207 or the new E Class Coupe - did told the owner to try it out. He has not come back to me.

Did U check with Pin Liang on the Gateway 500?

We have owners here who have successfully installed Fiscon BT with full system integration (HU, Steering & DIS) on their rides. I believe both of them are on W211.

If U want BT, I guess this is the best way to go, if your ride do not have the BT installed.

Thanks! I will check it out later and give MBM a call.

Have not check with Pin Liang on the Gateway yet as I'm really not so keen on BT. I find add-ons rather unsightly including mobile phone stands so I will probably keep it as a last resort;p

Cheers,

Spike
