Good Thread, am also looking for a good 1, maybe you can suggest if you find 1. Heard lots of American Made Dynamat Extreme, super duper quality/ light & super effective- haven't manage to find installer that stock it :censored:

Exactly my same sentiments, Ebay selling dran cheap but only worry how to freight it back states side & how much plus all the hassle. Retailers here asking 3-5 times what's asked for in Ebay-guess these retailers are also hopping onto the bandwagon in Property & cars hence need to raise their profit margin in order to sustain their lifestyles :Cry:

Dunno cost as it will be based on volumetric weight rather than actual weight, but you might want to try VPostUSA (SingPost) to see if economical or not?

On a serious note - If U want good sound proofing & workmanship - this is zee place! swee swee boh chow chwee!

There are customers who do the whole car not just the usual

flooring, firewall, doors, boot, wheel arches but including the roof....hahaha!

Seen also S Class - yes S Class!

Some S Class owners still not happy with their stock quiet ride.

Any mileage from them for the sound proofing, I dunno.

Probably law of diminishing retruns.....hahahah!:becky:

For some mods, it is prudent to pay for quality. Afterall, they will be 'tearing' up your panels and putting them back !

But if can gather a group, maybe unker can get shop to give 'blunt-blunt discount' for the boys la !!!

Yanddy and Paul from Audioart and Technologies in Perth suggested to have it decked out in dynamat for a local SPL sound off way back in 2000/2001.

The difference btwn dynamat original and extreme is that original needs to get pre heated (by a hair dryer) in order to get it tacky. Dynamat Extreme has a foil skin(read shiny). So anyway, the car was stripped of the interior and rolls went into the doors, roof, rear hatch etc.

Short of replacing the windscreen with lexan (supposedly keeps the pressure within the cabin better), we pulled approx 148db on the first attempt from a single 15" crossfire subwoofer powered by 2 x BMF1000Ds and 2 odyssey dry cell batteries.

The guy who bought over me car, Jonathan Watts, went on to kick more ass and set new records in SPL comps.

It's what i've been reading & all rav hence many offered 'similar' yet turned all down including a guy who is willing to come to my office or home to install his 'Preferred' brand.

If anyone knows of a super duper installer (read as those who are Lady's Finger in stripping panels & so forth) using Dynamat Extreme yet doesn't cost an arm/leg or body organ then please shout this way.

Finally went to visit Auto Image and after examining the E200 W211 2008 model, he is of the opinion that the existing vehicle is already provided with good sound insulation and any further installation would have very maginal return....Hurray for such a sturdy build german car!!

Would like to hear any different true story on such model with similar year and difference in dB attentuation after further enhancement of sound proofing material...
