How to change foglamps on W204?

Hi, Everyone!!

I was looking at an online manual and apparently, if there is a faulty foglamp, we have to send in to workshop for replacement! Can't be right?

Anyone can advise here how to change DIY? Or is there some other documentation?

Thanks!!

I had to replace my left foglight housing last year due to a rock shattering the glass lens (not as uncommon as it seems). When they replaced it, they jacked the vehicle and changed everything from behind the front wheel arch. Given the amount of clearance required, if you were to DIY, I'd imagine you'd either need a large jack and/or to turn the steering wheel to lock to give you enough space to work from behind there...

Just my 2c.

Thanks for the info.

Wow!! Like that, ah!? Doesn't seem to be very "user friendly".

Hi! if u just to change the bulb, then it is pretty easy. But if u need to change the whole fog light, then i think it would be better to go to a mechanic as alot of dismantling job need to be done.

Cheerz!

Yes! it is quite easy! just need to unscrew abt 4 screws from the wheel arch, take out the rubber cover, u will have access to the bulb. Just twist & take out the bulb. For the left side, it is a little harder as the wiper water tank blocks the access. Nevertheless, if yr hand is not too fat, shdn't have any prob ya!

Thanks, Tommy. Will likely give it a go.

Just to check, do you know if the fog lights are H7 or H11? Some websites say they are H7 but this eBay seller is saying it should be H11.

For fog light, it shd be 9006 or HB4, they are the same. H7 is for headlight & high beam.

For W204, Fog light is H11 and Low Beam is H7 (confirmed as I just change mine to Crystal Vision for both)

Alas, the eBay seller says the LED lights do not come with error cancelling resistors. Good thing I asked cos it was not very clear from their advertisement.

What a bummer!
