Excessive Brake Dust for W204?

Hi guys

My rims seem to get dirty very fast - they are usually coated with brake dust after just two days of washing...trust me, Pulaha rims not easy to clean :(

Did a quick search on Google and appears that US Merc owners were able to get replacement brake pads for their W204s (make before Jun 2008) and many of them said that their rims became relatively spotless after that...

Currently driving an Aug 2009 C200 - any way of checking if I am on the new brake pads or can we get them replaced by C&C for free?

The improved rear brake pads TSB is under P-B-42.10/100B. Part number is 005-420-42-20.

Actually no need after-market brake pads- the new revised ones (part number given above) appear to solve the issue.

So the big question is - are we (W204s bought after June 08) using it? If not, why since this is a well documented issue!

Poor Unker stay in HDB so get the Indian car washer just to wash my rims for $15/mth - 5 times/wk. Rims always stay clean. My bro pay only $10/mth for the car washer to wash his C Class Brabus wheels.... what brake dusts??..... muahaha!

Unker not rich but just been practical.

Let him wash whole car wait get all the swirl marks.

$15/20 days = 75c per wash.

The mama washer didn't get to wash all the cars I owned

for the last 9 yrs I stayed there. When I approached him to wash my rims he was so happy & I didn't offer him $10 when he asked for $20.

Unker old! Cannot bend over & cannot squat....old no more use....hehehe.

im not sure if you know about W204 has a feature which applies its brakes lightly on the rotors to clean off a sheen of water from the rotors during rainy. This enables the brakes to be more responsive and does not suffer from fad.... kinda safety feature. However it inevitably cause more brake dust cause the pads are constantly on the rotors lightly..... i do notice excessive brake dust on the wheels during rainy days.... on dry days, its ok.
