Anyone here can advice how to link and control the ipod to the audio system?

hmm - mine had a ipod interface port in the glove compartment.

I just had to buy the media interface kit and connect up.

i used to have a post of pics I took of the port and the screen - but i think it got lost when we migrated to the new platform.

How much is the media interface kit and from where?

I think what he meant is his ride has an aux input in the glove compartment. He connect his iPod to the aux input with the std 3.5mm mini headphone jack.

For iPod interface probably Dension might has a solution for you.

AFAIK Car Audio Installer Pin Liang is pretty good in this product.

Why not pay them a visit to find out if they can do anything for you.

hi kepiting,

It's not an AUX output... it's really a media interface connection. The port looks like this.

The cables ..

And the tracks being played will actually show up on the radio set

hmm.. the port came with the car. So I'm not sure about the installation in SG.

The cables I got from a UK site. I had tried to find it a while back but couldn't seem to find it. If you are interested, let me know - i will dig harder :) :)

Bro P,

This is a "line amp" i.e if U connect your iPod through the aux port and the sound signal is too soft, this gadget will bring the signal level up.

:) i bought the cables... but the port came with the car.

for the cables, no installation is required - i just plugged it into the port when it came and it worked... :)

one caveat tho - i realise while it charges ipods and the first gen iphone, it doesn't charge a 2nd gen iphone or the 3Gs.

no - just one set of cables only. the port is actually the "hole" to plug the cables in.

if you look at my post on 30-11-2009, 02:32 AM, the first picture is the port, the second picture is the cables...

:)

Bru NewC180 noted. Thats why i m asking do we need to purchase another cable to make it work. If plug and play, then it wont cost an arm or leg to get it done.

Stealth, C&C do it for 1K plus for this setup.
