Posting on behalf of a friend, below is the message

Dear All,

As u all know I am in the teaching profession.

Recently, a pupil in my school was diagnose with Cancer in the 3rd stage.

He is a small petit boy in Primary 5, he was a normal cheerful kid early this year !

(I m not able to release his name due to fact that I am doing this on a personal basis),

to release his name would require a lot of paper processes and protocol which I feel is more of a hindrance.

He is also under FAS scheme (Financial Assistance Scheme), pupil under this scheme meant that their parents' combine salary is less than $1200.

My colleagues who is his form teacher had visited him and we were updated on his condition. He is very frail and needs a lot of support as he is under going 6 mths Chemotherapy.

The worst hit was his mother who had to take long term leave so that she is able to be with him everyday. His dad too is badly shaken by this ordeal. Grown man actually do cry is all I can say.

Their family also has difficulty making ends meet even though social welfare are there (His family actually had buns to sustain their hunger for him!)

My school has also started collecting donations from pupils, teachers and pupil's parents. At present my school plans to disburse monthly, the donations raised so far, to ensure the funds are not misuse. This alone I am aware is insufficient as he will be sent back home to be cared for as there is only a certain amount of goodwill a hospital would extend over medical expenses. He will need to make periodic trip to n fro hospital for treatment which we foresee where bulk of the expense would be incurred.

I m doing my bit here to ask if anyone would like to contribute in kind for the boy. However small your contribution it would surely make a difference.

I was very touched when the boy's only wish (said to his teacher during a visit) was, to be able to sit for his PSLE next year ! His conduct in school has always been very good, shy but always ready to do his bit for both classmates and teachers.

Its always sad to hear or in this case experience life's uncertain predicament.

I hope our rx8 club will be able to extend a little help for a good cause.

I am available at 9 271 7701, Zavier.

If u guys want to meet up and discuss this matter I m most welcome to do so.

Please render support and pray for the boy ! He is frm Tampines North Primary Sch.

I hope a neutral volunteer would step up to help on this matter so that there will not be a conspiracy pun on this.

Will also appreciate all members' posting be mindful as this is a serious matter, Thank you in advance.
