The first thing my friends found out I bought a Merc, they all rib me saying I chose an "ah pek's" car...sigh

simi "Ah Pek" car .....it is LUXURY car OK and put it even more nicely .."YOU HAVE ARRIVED"...... and the technology is very tok kong one... imagine the 1.8 Kompressor engine producing over 250NM of torque..... put the lights in auto and everytime you leave and go to the car and press remote the lights would turn on for you to share the doorway , dark carpark and etc.... and many many more...... anytime I would drive ah pek car..... hahahaaha

But my prior ride produced 350NM of torque from 2.3l...heheh

Also got auto lights - no auto wiper though

I also like that remote - click once to unlock driver's door and double click for all doors...good safety feature IMHO

But the one of the Merc's cool factors is the remote boot access - can see some people look quite shocked when my boot magically open when I approach my car with my groceries...heheh

C200 where got ah pek. i think the design quite trendy leh! the big star is a bit vulgar though. i would change to the elegance's simple star if i were to get one. but that doesn't change the fact that the design (imho) is better than the present 3 series. (will probably be the case for the next 3 series)

hmmm. btw that is a setting for your remote key. if i'm not mistaken (check your manual), you can set it to unlock all doors at the same time if you want to.

just depress the lock and unlock button for 6 seconds. then the remote's led will flash. then the settings will be remembered. do the same to reverse it.

Hi, im new to the Merc marque. Just booked the C180BE. i actually tested the old C180K 1.8SC, C200K, C230 (no more) and the current C180BE.... though the C230 is the best of the lot (probably due to the 7Gtronics), i thought the C180BE is acceptable, compared to the old C180K 1.8L unit. On paper horsepower and torque are the same, but old 1.8 max torque arrived at 2800rpm while the new 1.6 one arrive only at 3000 rpm. ... but the C180BE makes up for it with lighter (slightly body) and better aerodynamics (0.25 Cd vs 0.27Cd on non BE cars).

Anyway, there is a new C180 CGI BE 1.8L (dont know if its super charge or turbo charge or NA) unit available from German website..... all key figures are similar to the 1.6K unit,... but consumption is slightly higher (on paper). I guess its using the same direct injection CGI engine as the C250 CGI.... but tuned down to less power.

Yes there is a setting to unlock all at all time and the driver door only... the settings to unlock driver door at one click is to prevent car jacking from the passenger or other door side when pressing the remote.. it is a security/safetly feature

DRL about 1.2k. As for front lip, I can't really recall. Anyway just took out the front lip as wife make noise too "ah beng". Anyone interest the front lip (for amg bumber) can pm me.
