Hi folks,

Anyone going to this C class learning session this evening at benz center? Anyone been to this? How izit? I have registered and will be there. I have 3 questions in mind if have the chance to ask.

1. juddering wipers issues

2. rattling noise (from left side of engine) could be heard during idling. Tap...tap...tap...sounds like a helicopter... (oh, this could be the next autobot for transformer movie).

3. vibrating noise underneath left side dash board when driving over rough surface at low speed.

see ya...

there sent an invitation which i remembered there are some fee's involved.

doubt it is useful session since it is indoors.. unless they have some form of driver orientation or advance driving course, then its worth it.

If I am not mistaken I think it's some knowledge session where they get some engineers to take you through some tech classes about your car and you come away feeling enlightened with a huge halo.

OT - Can bro. Outdoor session I conduct for you = C Class carpark challenge. All you have to do is provide me with your vehicle and I'll make sure I demo for you not once but twice. This way you'll know if MOVIT can stop like it claims.

Wah, just collected my C200 last month and they never even send me the invite...

So much for aftersales service :(

Hi folks,

Not so soon lah.. I chatted with some owners there. The invite is done in batches (previously the group too large). I got mine after 6 months. I believe it is also to allow them to gather your feedback.

It was attended by about 25 pax. The buffet dinner is passable (I expected lesser, so not disappointed). Started off with a pre-session light dinner from 6pm. Session begins at 6.30pm with the Chief engineer (a German from head office stationed here) introducing basic functions and characteristic of the C class. This is followed by a demo and questions session with 6 C-class on the AMG floor. We were teamed into 4 or 5 per car lead by a service advisor. The engineer will be around for specific questions.

Personally:

I felt the session duration is just right (if you engage in questions). There are some take away for me. At least 2 points for a newbie (politely or a swa ku in others opinion).

1. never knew our bonnet can be open almost at 90 degree angle!

2. if you want all windows up in one command, just press the recycle mode on the AC control for longer and it will wind up all windows.

I managed to understand better how wipers can judders and preventions. Also know what they meant by polishing your windscreen to rectify the problem when we complain judder wipers.

The thumping sound (helicopter sound from the left), it has to do with a operating valves and can be reduce (noise).

Many others points and difficult for me to have it all here.

Lastly, I have to pay $30 (self) if bring another (plus $25). At the end of the session, we were given a $50 service voucher.

Overall not too bad and I like it.

Hmm... could have ask that question. :)

additional points on this (in my discussion with this engineer, forgotten his name):

1. our cars may be seating in the storage before we have it, therefore the age of the wipers. Usually, they would changed when you complained - judder. This is to eliminate/rule out the possibility of the juddering caused by wipers.

2. our windscreen is 'never flat', roads pollutants and built up minerals do stay on the surface (not referring to visible dirt). The reason for cleaning it up with a polish by them.

3. if someone or yourself have 'stretched' the angle of the wipers arms causing it to be out of correct angle. This also contribute to possible juddering.

4. never 'over' clean your wipers blade. The black residue when you run a cloth on it, is normal.

thanks for the invite to the gathering, unable to be there. Need to be with my son.

I believe the GTG gathering would be a great platform to learn from fellow owners. Would be greater if we could invite that German engineer. I dun think we have one in GTG right? correct me if I am wrong. :)
