This is what i know.....

Not a must to trade in to C&C, you can opt for 'No Trade-in' , they can do for you a overtrade in other way than you can sell to outside dealer or end user.

Check with your SE what is the price they can offer without trade in, do some home work in sgcarmart.

cheers

i was told that...in order to get the best overtrade (above market value), i need to sell my ride thru c&c...their discount to me will be in the form of overtrade...anyone has similar encounter?

over-trade is merely taking the $$$ from new car and putting it on your trade-in car ... so what's the point ? so if u can sell the car yrself for higher $ and getting C&C to put the over-trade into the new car .. you will benefit more ...

but no harm to get a gut-feel how much you can get from outside for your ride and see if Republic's offer comes close ... if the diff is not much, to avoid hassle, just trade-in ....

one friend's diff is $2K and another friend's is almost $12K ...

Option 1 with trade in to C&C :

Selling Price for C200 : $156888

trade in your car : $50,000

Option 2 without trade in :

Selling Price : $156888

Discount : $8000

If you can sell your car to a outside dealer @ $46000

What you gain ..........Extra few grand for mod mod mod.........

Anyway what are you trading in, maybe i can help......

Actually depends lor...

If you trade in, you can drive your old car until you collect your C200...

That's what I did - the price was not that far from a quote I got from a second hand car dealer for an immediate sale and what C&C offered for delivery 2 months later

have any of you tried selling in the open market instead? i admit, its quite a hassle, most of the stuff done on your own, but you will get a better margin than trading it in or selling it to a 2nd hand car dealer. but quite luckily for me, SE help me sort out most of the stuff, but that did not stop the buyer from bugging me after the sale was made faint*
