Is it true that we can programmed a Mercs keyless remote by ourselves?

Hi! I have read from some forum that we can programmed a new keyless remote just by inserting the remote into the ignition, turn to "on" position and press some buttons on your remote to programme the code onto the remote? Anyone tried that before?

hi bro. i do not believe this is possible. the keys are all electronically assigned at the factory with a computer via IR.

HI! I doubt so too! Guess i have to de-solder the EEPROM & programme it myself & solder onto the new remote. Do you know if the PC board of the remote for W203(without the chrome side) can be fitted onto the chrome side remote?
