Thanks! Thanks! :) :)

I bought another grille from one of the bros here. Removed the chrome parts then sent for proper spraying. I decided to send to a shop to do it cos I'm not confident I can do a good job.

The removal and installation was DIY. Wah.. actually, the hardest part was to remove that small round thing in the middle. Mine broken liao!! Can get replacement or not? ???

See the grilles side by side for comparison...

Pink?? Orange?? Hahaha... ;D

I think depends on your personal preference, your car's color and the kind of look you want. For me, I think black is still the best and most classic, sporty, look.

Umm... who's calling me??

Yes, I LOVE to KIOW! Who wanna kiow what please remember to call me ok?

To succesfully kiow out the chrome parts, you need to use a small test pen, cloth, and your finger nails. Need to feel the catch, pry it little bit by little bit, if not too hard the bits will just give way... The feeling damn steam if you can manage to do it properly....

I saw in mbworld someone did a matt black on the grey areas, and a glossy black on the chrome parts, and it turns out to be quite nice also. Hmmm... maybe my next project, since I have a spare grille lying around now.

Another suggestion is to paint the grille to your car colour, will be nice also I think.

Actually, it was not the chrome parts that broke. They were not easy to remove... kiow until my fingers also pain!! :)

The one that I broke is the small round thing just at the back of the grille that holds down the radiator guard.. you know, the first thing that you have to turn and then "kiow"?? :)

I was actually wondering why Merc had made something like that... half flimsy yet so difficult to remove. Now that it is half broken, I just put it back and don't see any issue also. Just that little disappointed that I didn't manage to do a perfect job.

You mean the round piece that 'hook' the grille onto the car body, one on the left and one on the right? Hmmm, I didn't have problems with that, kiow in and out many times and the part is quite sturdy leh....

Anyway, the bottom of the grille still hooks on to many other parts of the car body, so even if the round piece broken the grille should still stay in place without dangers of falling off, should be ok.
