THIS GROUP BUY HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO QUALITY ISSUE!!!

LED.jpg

You can read all about these bulbs in the following mbworld thread, there are pictures there as well:

http://www.mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w204/301833-5000k-white-eyelid-led-picture-thread.html

I have managed to find the manufacturer for these bulbs. Please fill in your name and number of pairs you need below:

1. NewC180 - 4 pairs

2. Blackmercs - 2 pairs

3.

4.

5.

The bulbs are to be used for W204 Eyelids (2 pairs per car) and number plate lights (1 pair per car). They can be used for other models as well (eg. CLC Eyelids), as long as the existing bulb size is T10/W5W. You might want to buy a spare pair to keep just in case.

Price per pair is S$45 inclusive of shipping charges.

Let's see if we can get this going.

Dear Turismo,

We did not go ahead with this GB due to lack of interest from the bros here. Also, I have read in the mbworld forums that these LEDs are Blue-ish and not White-ish as what we were looking for. Do you still want it? Any other bros want? If got more ppl want it, we can go ahead with this GB again....

Please read the mbworld thread above for the buyers feedback.

Yes was reading the thread just now. Seem lots of complaint on that particular LED. Any other source ?

Seems like this is the "best" LED available in the market so far. Have you heard of "one-eye-jack is king in the land of the blind"? Haha!

Alternatively, you can get it at Benzline, a few bros here have bought from them. But BL one is different, it is just a normal LED with an external resistor, whereas the above LED that I have posted has a built in resistor.

I might be getting in a few pairs for a few bros that have asked me for it. If you really wanna go for it let me know how many pairs you need. But please be reminded that they are not that white hor....

because of the heat built up for this LED (which is strange, I alway thought LED temp is lower than normal bulb) our headlight housing may be damage if the LED melts.... :-\

Is the heat built up only for this LED or for LEDs in general? Never heard of this before, I'm noob in this. If LED will cause heat built up, then those cars with LED DRL how?? Calling UNKER for your sexpert advice!!!

I think is more of the resistor buliding up the heat. Cos for this design of the LED the resistor is bulid together with the housing of bulb which cause the it to bulid up heat. For BL LED since the resistor is seperate from the bulb I think should be better right?

Any expert......

Expert No lah!

Sexpert? After cheem in Batam Pleasure/Fantasy Island for 20 years a little lah!....muahahaha!

Nowadays with the built-in resistor - no problem lah! My W211 is using those with built in resistors.

Those with external resistor usually used a ceramic resistor (this I done on my previous W203)

These ceramic resistors are usually rated 100 Ohm 10 Watt Power Resistor Ceramic and good enough for your small 5W5 Watt lamp not for your headlamps.

Lots of heat are generated through these resistors.

So from sexpert Unker's reply, this means that LED with built-in resistors will generate less heat than those with external resistors, right Unker?

So if this is the case, this means the LEDs in this GB should be 'better' than the ones from BL?

Anyone else wanna join the GB before we go ahead with it?

i would prefer the built-in resistor type..... so that no need to splice the wires... in any case, the external resistor that came with BL's LEDs are also shoved into the lamp housing... so with respect to "heat buildup", i dun see any diff between the 2.

Bro, if yours is stuffed inside then you better be careful lio, later the heat build up and melt your lens!!!

Ha ha! Don't think so serious la, scare you only. Anyway, will get 2 extra pairs for you for standby as promised earlier.

Will hold this GB for a few more days and see if got other bros want or not.

Calling once.................................

IMHCCBO! Yes! Safer with built-in resistors.

For my previous W203, I used the ceramic resistor for also the internal dome lights (Front & Rear) using those 48 LEDs panels.

Bright as day....can count P hairs.....muahahahaha!!! :tongue1:

It has been >3 years and my younger Bro has took over my ride and the ceramic resistors didn't melt the dome light plastic covers leh.

Slimy, this GB is for a so-called improved version over the link that you have posted. I have those LEDs from ijdmtoy in my car now as well which is very blue. The new LED in this GB is supposed to be more white (but I'm really not sure about it from the mbworld thread feedback, am giving it a try anyway). Please add your name to the GB list if you're in for it.

In order not to make everyone wait too long, I think we will end this GB this Friday (31 July). Will update the first post to reflect the GB end date.

Hi Guys,

I need to call off this GB. One of the bros here have already got the same LEDs from the mbworld GB, and end up the LEDs are not white but blue. The worst thing is the LEDs burnt! Message from this kind bro as follows:

"...got my led from the mbworld group buy....result not very good still turn blue after awhile. but the worse thing is it burnt out so badly that my eyebrow got burnt also and a bit brownish also. in my car can smell burning smell. the led was burnt quite bad. have a read over at the other forum..."

Since quality is an issue, this GB will be cancelled. I will update the first post to announce the cancellation.

Woah.. so terok!? :-\ I was just about to look for LEDs to replace the eyelids. Well, better know now then later.

I got mine changed to LEDs but results now so bright, leh. A bit disappointed. So are there better options?
