bro funng, sorry to hijack the thread, i am also extremely keen to go there for a meal, but problem is, i cannot find the place at all, i drove the entire stretch of piccadilly and even managed to get to where we had our mega photo shoot but still unable to find dat place.

anyway, most feedback i read so far says that their food is good, especially the chicken wings and mussels, and its owned by the same person who gave you bukeroo (sembawang) and jerry's (jalan kayu). And yea, heard that mosquitos will be a problem and patrons are not advised to wear shorts there.

Bro, no worries. I'm headed there this sat, looks like have to recce first. but i found these directions online. guess i will try going for a recce tonight, will update directions if I can find it.

Also read that they place mosquito coils below the tables. was wondering about wearing shorts.

DIRECTIONS:

the old main entrance to the airbase is at the northern end of Jalan Kayu near the TPE expressway. just inside the entrance, which no longer has sentries, is a roundabout. don't take the first two turnoffs, go straight along Picadilly, who will see an abandoned driving range on the right, and pass the Orientus "resort" on the left. the road ends at the new security checkpoint, and there is a huge carpark on the left of that. go around the car park, turning left from Picadilly and then 30 metres down turn right, 30 metres more you will come to at T-junction, the road is Old Birdcage Walk. turn right and left, you will come to this steep slope, a road's been built to run over a fairway of the abandoned golf course. down the slope, take the next right where the sign says "East Camp". go all the way in to the end of the hangars, past the planes. the runway is on the left of all this, Sunset is just at the edge next to the fence. at night, just look out for the fairylights.

bro, thanks for you directions, i finally found that place!!!

ambience is exactly as described, food is good as long you are not overly picky. The clam chowder soup i had was pretty good, thick and gooy. Mussels was nice, with a tinge of wine. The pork chops we had for main course was tender but a little on the salty side. all in all the experience was good and i would definitly go back.

hi all bros, I recceed the place last night. the drive in actually very simple.

1. Jln Kayu exit

2. Go straight on Picadilly Road until just before Seletar Camp

3. Turn left just before Seletar camp, then right cause dead end.

4. T- junction with Old Birdcage Walk right in front of you, turn left.

5. Right turn at following junction

6. Right turn again onto Seletar Aerospace Road/View ( this is where the Mega photoshop was held)

7. Turn left down this steep slope

8. Right turn after slope, follow road

9. Turn left after passing one hangar

10. straight all the way until end, left turn.

11. Left again into carpark

Advised to go before sunset, one is to catch sunset, two, because there's no streetlights after the slope. good testing place for all the "kim kim" HIDs.

YF... you managed to find the place last night? or was it just a "smoke screen" for YD. haha. but must bring us there next time...

of course finding the place top priority, won't want to be making circles while the sun sets on saturday!

just back from Sunset Grill & Pub.

Agree with ladyseals80, the clam chowder and wings(only had lvl 1) are good. had another BBQ combi which wasn't too great.

Recommend to order your courses separately and share if you are not a big eater (portions quite big in my opinion), i.e. first round- soup and/or wings, second round- main course. This is because, the table beside mine, after having a few lvl 10 wings, drank lots of iced water and they seemed full.

Adding to this point of ordering courses seperately, svc is good, food was served really fast, 5 mins after ordering, wings and soup were on the table. 10-15 mins in, main course arrived. deciding to finish the wings first, main course was cold by the time we got to it. :-\

prices wise, i would say its above average(from a student's POV), considering it was tucked deep in the northeast. Wings, soup and bbq combi came up to almost $60 for 2 pax. But a plus point would be no GST and SVC charge.

overall good place to visit for the view/ambience(outback/relaxed feel), food is good if not fussy. Will try higher level wings the next time. :bboyspin:

Mosquito coils already at the sides of the deck, but additional one was given upon request, so i didn't have problems with mosquitos despite wearing berms and slippers.

ps. thought i saw a fellow sgmerc member there. think is a CLS bro. :punk1:
