HELP !!! How to remove Condo Management Committee via EOGM???

anyone has the exp being a committee member in a condo or appartment? my condo management implemented new policies and have upset many of us so we are trying to hold a EOGM (extraordinary general meeting) to resolve those issues. i know we need to have 25% of the total unit's signature for them to agree to the EOGM. anyone has the exp or can advise how to vote out the current management via "no confidence" approach? any sample letters or documents on this subject?

strictly P&C. and you can reach me via 96678989 or [email protected]

thanks, allen

I am sure the policies were implemented after majority voted YES to it. Mind sharing what are these unwelcome policies. My condo had some unpopular policies that were fortunately voted out by residents, if not I will have problem parking the 2nd car at home.

it is always a few residents who attended the AGM and same management team appointed by default since we moved into this condo. un-welcome pocilies include:

1. propose to build shelter for BBQ area but was turned down. instead, they built 2 big rain curtains for 2 units at level 1 using our money. claimed that we throw rubbish into their private access area (garden)

2. vistors' car can only park till 1030PM and will start to get calls fr security guards to chase visitors out.

3. 14 vacant parking lots at basement carpark but they claimed FULL. rejected 4 applications for 2nd car label.

4. saw 3 strangers swimming in our pool and when finished, they packed their clothes in plastic bag and walk to opposite HDB. complained to mgmt and got a reply 1 mth later. request to see video but they said must apply to mgmt.

5. complaints of cockroaches in the rubbish chute fr many residents but was ignored.

If you are considering taking over the management council, you must be prepared to put in time and effort. Believe me, all these will not be appreciated. And if you still keen to do something about it, go around the other non-participating residents and garnder for their votes or be their proxy during the EOGM. All proxy forms can be lodged at the last minute ( element of surprise ). The letter to convene the EOGM to indicate a " No Confident " motion to be discussed and to be voted upon during the EOGM and if deemed necessary to call for re-election of a new management council team ( do ensure that you have enough support from other participating residents to be part of the ne team). The rest will be history.

My 2 cents worth.

hahaha....my condo in the east also got problems. i also cant stand the management. they hv all sorts of funny ideas and rules, ie 2nd car must pay for mthly parking....limited visitor lots... etc..

At least you are doing something about it. Wish you're staying here. :)

does your visitor need to change their IC when they visit you?? My friends all complaining when they come over.

thot visiting most condo only need to tell security the resident's name and unit number ? must leave IC ? is this not dangerous ? what happens if security misplace my IC ?

yes some security can be over-zealous and makes visitors piss out trying to get access into the condo ... but on the other hand, since you pay mgmt fees, you dun wan security to be 'bo-chap' and let anyone in right ? :death:

iirc, no one can legally force you to hand over your IC.

but if you surrender it, then different story.
