Hi guys,

While doing some research on the CLC coupe bulb thingy, found this link. Will add on infro here for modding the bulb for the CLC be it, LED or HID etc.

OK, just to share, nothing new. For CLC coupe the front lighting should be the same as the W204 sedan. I have change the following to white / LED

1) fog light - PIA brand H11 WHITE- why change the foglight u may ask!! Well,whenever u unlock yr car, the foglight will turn on, when u saw the orange light, u will be turn off!!!!

2) Side lamp/parking lamp - T10 LED - 2 pcs each for left and right total 4 pcs - this one u need to have resistor, just order from this guy http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140300100187&ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:MOTORS:1123

3) Low beam - Philips H7 WHITE

4) High beam - Stock at the moment coz hardly used it.

In future, if wanna upgrade the low beam to HID, can swap the low beam Philips LED to High beam as both are using the H7.

As for the rear licence plate, rite now still doing some research.

Ok after trying to save some cost by DIY, project failed. As Uncle Batam adviced, dont play play with the licence plate thingy...hehehehe. So I end up went to Autobacs and get it installed!!! hurhurhur

Yes Uncle, i m super goody kwai.............lan too.......................lolz

These bulbs on the side / park light not very bright leh, kinda of blueish as show in the pics. Some of my kakis like it as there are contrast but some dont!!! Same as NewC180 source, T10 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140300100187&ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:MOTORS:1123

As for the front lights i m using Philips brand crystal white bulb, result not too bad. Now broke liao, if not will get the HID too, but not too sure whether got fault light up or not. NewC180 bru no issue at all.

U mean Philips Crystal Vision bulbs arh?...they are only 4K color temp nia.

The Philips Diamond Vision 5K color temp are much whiter.

Both cost the same.

I use the Philip Diamond Vision H7 for my high beam

OEM Xenon are usually 4300 color temp - near white

Philip & Osram supplies up to 6K color temp H.I.D bulbs - white

I've changed my OEM bulbs to 8500 H.I.D Xenon bulbs - bluish white.

Remember as U go up the color temp range, U start to lose brightness aka lumens.

Anyway in sillypore, U wanna bulb to be as white as possible but drivng at nite in MY brightness will be important.

With even 10K color temp. bulbs, driving at nite U can see "reflective" sign boards clearly a few metres ahead,

but U might not see a cow crossing the road 100m infront of U....wakakaka ;D

Your can instal an OEM Bi-Xenon meaning that U have to change your whole lamps.

Bi-Xenon mean the lamps cum with it's own auto leveller if they are equip with.

If no auto leveller, U will lose your manual light level & just Xenon & not Bi-Xenon.

Likewise after market H.I.D Xenon, U can instal.

Once installed U have to go into the Diagnostic to enable setting Xenon present, so no error and your Xenon lights work.

Not sure this will work for after market H.I.D/Xenon but I am sure it works for OEM Xenon.

I did that for my W203. I changed the headlamps to OEM Bi-Xenon.

Our Bro CKlasse did his W203 too.

Have U thought of changing or U have changed your front orange color signal bulbs to silver color bulbs?...hehehehe!!! ;D

Is plug and play, no fuss at all, no fault light, NOTHING!!!! The best of all is super cheapo!!! US$39.99 per set, I order 2 sets. One for the low beam and fog light, including shipping cost SIN dollar $200, yes is SIN $200 only. This translate to SIN$100 per set. I took the risk, cos i cheapo, i m not sure whether are there any fault light up or not, but it didnt, phew......................... Just take note, USA website but the HID ship out from PRC, my favorite ctry.

There are many HID locally, i think this is the cheapest among all, i might be wrong!!!

Bru u come to the west side, i bring u to high class kopitiam with alot PRC waitress and hostess. No needs to give tips somemore. Dont settle for simi Diamond liao, i switch it to my high beam which hardly used, paid almost 90 bucks for it. Mai tu liao brudder, go and grab one HID and see it for yrself.

Whether it will interfer with the Intelligent Lighting or not, I will try that out.

The H.I.D set is on it's way to me.

My eyes maybe "c$#k", but the low beam on BlackMerc doesn't seems bright enough to me as compare to the original Halogen Bulbs. Like I say "maybe" or it was day time. U go & look at his and make your own judgement.

Unker is not yr eyes playing tricks on u lah. Coz u r viewing from top view, if u bend down, (errrr most probably nothing will happens) u will see the light much brighter. U dont believe me, tonite u go and bend down and see it for yrself. WARNING : Please do not try it outside for all the chio bu!!!!

Dunno leh! When I looked at my low beam without bending down, my H.I.D looks bright leh.

Unker ordered only the H11 fog lights only cos I've the original Bi-Xenon.

IMHO should not be a problem for your H7 Low Beam but matter take a look at BlackMerc 6000k set.

See whether the brightness gam U or not!

Another cheapo poison for U or BlackMerc is the front turn signal bulbs.

The original PY 21 W turn signal bulbs are orangy in color.

Philip Silver Vision or "Merc" from BL are silver in color.

IMHO replacing the orangy bulbs with silver colored bulb makes the headlight assemby neat.

I've got a set from here and cheaper than BL "Merc" brand.

I was also kiasu and bought 1 set of the "Merc" brand from BL.

Didn't try it out to see the diff. bet them but defintely neater than the stock orangy bulbs.
