Car kena scratched / vandalised

guys and gals, after about 6mths of very seldom driving my mum's car, i noticed a tonne of scratches on the bonnet, doors, boot lit, fenders, bumpers, basically all over the car..

recently i'm in the mist of shifting back to my parents house after my school term has ended, and just 2 nights parking my dad's car overnight, i have found a similar pattern scratch on the fender of the car already!

it is not a cat, i've seen a cat sit on the boot b4, and seen what it did to my boot lit, and because the vandalism marks are all randomly peppered all over the car like spots on a dalmatian dog!

so i guess its confirmed that some bloodee sore eyed sicko in my estate is jealous or has a grudge against me as ive not found any similar marks on the other neighbours' cars. just my luck that my cp doesn't have any cameras...

i've decided to no longer take this sh!t and i want to install a video camera into the car.

some specs i have in mind are: -

at least 2 days recording memory as sometimes i'm out of town..

front facing is most important, however i dun mind side and rear facing ones as well...

if it has options for expendable memory (ie. memory card based) it would be good...

any help rendered here would be greatly appreciated from a fellow car lover...

some bus3rds are meant to never live in society with the rest of CIVILISED people.. >:(

cld u have parked in someone's fav lot ? it seems strange but pple do take offense at such acts ... sad :banghead:

cats do not scratch cars when they sleep on the bonnet ... unless they are frightened and needs to scamper off quickly, the claws are not used.

Hi willy, sad to hear that.

You can get those with motion detect meaning if no motion,no record.

Also most of this device can change the memory card, normally it comes in 1GB, you can change the memory card to 4GB or 8Gb if you want.

Remember to get those which you can hook up more than 1 cam, 4 cam would be perfect. Front , back , left and right.

Willy I hope you catch the bugger. Technology can be expensive to install just to catch this prick.

i kinda liked the GeniusGuard™ Vehicle Video Recorder System, but it probably costs more than the $1,299 stated for their lower end systems... yea... very expensive, i wonder if can claim the amount back after i catch him?

Man, this is frustrating...

If the act of scratching follows a regular pattern (everyday, every weekend etc.) I suggest you get someone (preferably you... :P) to watch out for the a..hole at those times in case he pops up again. :ninja:

This will be much cheaper than installing all those cameras...

And I guess this must have been debated in other car forums as well: Is there such a case in which the offender is caught by a camera and charged/punished in court based on the camera recording in Singapore?

Do you have the means (a.k.a time and money) to survive thru long court proceedings?

If so, then maybe it's worth installing all that.

Or else: wait, catch, and beat the crap out of him. :whip2:

Just like you've said: pure payback... (Scratch him, lor.)

i did a search and found cklasse's post when his car was scratched - the police won't charge the person, and for a sure win trial, they needed clearer footage of the culprit and his doings..

actually, i dun really want to take him to court, i just wanna know which neighbour did it, cuz generally here most of the neighbours are nice and polite, greet u when they see u, ask u about ur days work etc... so dunno which black egg spoiling the basket...
