The former Honda Formula One team are to compete again under new ownership.

Honda's F1 team have agreed a deal with Ross Brawn to become Brawn GP Limited

Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello will race as Brawn GP, according to a statement.

The Honda Motor Company reached a deal with Ross Brawn to allow the F1 team to compete in the championship later this year.

The former team principal will take over controlof the British-based team "with immediate effect".

Brawn GP will take part in preseason tests in Spain ahead of the Australian Grand Prix later this month. "The past few months have been extremely challenging for the team but today's announcement is the very pleasing conclusion to the strenuous efforts that have been made to secure its future," Mr Brawn said.

The new team have signed a deal to use McLaren Mercedes engines.

Honda announced in December it was pulling out of Formula One due to the economic downturn.

Ross Brawn (born November 23, 1954) is a British motorsport engineer. He has worked for a number of Formula One teams, latterly as the technical director of the championship-winning Benetton Formula and Scuderia Ferrari teams. He took a sabbatical from the sport in 2007, but returned to F1 for the 2008 season as Team Principal of Honda F1.

it will certainly be interesting... we haven't had any privateer teams that have challenged for the world championship in a long time....

Hopefully, he can do for his team what he did for benetton and ferrari... :pray:
