Car Jacking

Notice on car

Just last weekend on Friday night, we parked in a public parking area. As we drove away

I noticed a sticker on the rear window of the car. When I took it off after Igot home,

it was a receipt for petrol.

Luckily my friend told me not to stop as it could be someone waiting for me toget out of

the car. Then we received this email yesterday:

WARNING FROM POLICE

BEWARE OF PAPER ON THE BACK WINDOW OF YOUR VEHICLE - NEW WAY TO DO CAR-JACKINGS(NOT A JOKE)

You walk across the car parking, unlock your car and get inside. You start theengine and shift into Reverse. When you look into the rear view mirror to backout of your parking space, you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle ofthe rear window.

So, you shift into neutral, unlock your doors, and jump out of your car toremove thatpaper (or whatever it is) that isobstructing your view.

When you reach the back of your car, that is when the carjackers appear out ofnowhere, jump into your car and take off. They practically mow you down as theyspeed off in your car.

And guess what, ladies? I bet your purse is still in the car. So now thecarjacker has your car, your home address, your money, and your keys. Your homeand your whole identity are now compromised!

BEWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT'S NOW BEING USED.

If you see a piece of paper stuck to your back window, just drive away. Removethe paper later. And be thankful that you readthis e-mail. I hope you will forward this to friends and family, especially

to women. A purse contains all kinds of personal information and identificationdocuments, and youcertainly do NOT want thisto fall into the wrong hands.

Just received this from my friends, Please pass this on.

Yup, just be very wary around the surroundings when you're driving up North.

Things to remember:-

1). Always lock your car when you're at the pump station.

2). If you going for a quick pee at the pump station, and if you have a passenger with you, please lock your doors.

3).

3). Beggar or pedestrian, looks very "poorthing" or requires some "humane assistance", DON'T STOP, DON'T GET OUT, DON'T WINDDOWN WINDOW. (it may go against ur heart or values, but if u treasure ur valuables or ur LIFE, its best to just move on - u never know when they are gonna pull a knife on u.)

4).

Well... my fren parked his Odessy (sp?) butt in at multistorey carpark & returned to find the whole rear wiper missing.... that was almost 3yrs back....

Anything goes yeah...

For those 'older' mercs, best to set the unlocking of doors only to the driver side using the remote.
